There is something about the red telephone box which has gone beyond the simple practicality of making a call, and has embedded itself in the imagination. The little glass world houses a collective wealth of private communication, but the age of cell-phones has rendered them obsolete. If you search Google images for these telephone booths, you will find so many inspiring pictures. I have selected three which stood out for me.
“You can talk with someone for years, everyday, and still, it won't mean as much as what you can have when you sit in front of someone, not saying a word, yet you feel that person with your heart, you feel like you have known the person for forever.... connections are made with the heart, not the tongue.”

“Oh the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are -- chaff and grain together -- certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and with the breath of kindness blow the rest away.”

“How would your life be different if…You pretended those around you were deaf to your words? Let today be the day…You let your actions speak and communicate your feelings and intentions.”

There is no prescription for this prompt, just the pictures themselves and the ideas which are generated.
While researching the history of the red telephone box, I came across this very interesting article which I'd like to share HERE.
Kerry is standing in for OT today.

Ahh... I love this, Kerry. I find it fascinating thay they have turned old telephone booths into book boxes... I wish I could put my hands on one. I'd do the same.

Oh fine. Just what this French-Irish girl wants to write about...something British!
I enjoyed this prompt! And - hooray for me! - I finally figured out how to solve my connectivity challenges. I started a new blog just for poetry and stories. Oh, it's not rocket science, but now at least I'm satisfied! 8-)
It took me a while to get started, but I couldn't get those red boxes off my mind, along with a glimmer of an idea.
It was lots of fun once it got going! I love when that happens. Thanks!

This took me in a completely different direction...
love how out of the box this prompt is! who'd have thought it! little splice of Britain I see - a box of conversation and history and people - isolated but connected as shown through the pictures of them quite literally in the middle of nowhere here - they are so iconic - such an intriguing prompt - I'll add it to my massive list of things to do when I remember how to write!
OT this was a wonderful and thoughtful prompt, very imaginative.
thats very impressive Ella.keep it up
