Those who read Izy Gruye's interview of De Jackson last week will know that she threw out a challenge to all commentators to share their favourite word, and suggested we use the list of words as inspiration for poetry. Well, we love a challenge at Real Toads. Here follows "the list" of 30 words. Remember that a poem can be built around a single word, but you are free to use as many as you need to express your creative ideas.
I scheduled this for midnight, and it went ahead and published, even though it is dated for tomorrow. Sorry that OLM has been pushed to second place on the Home page, but we're still there for today!
Aha, that's why Sherry and I are first with the word list, we both missed Open Link Monday due to being in distant Western Canadian time zones. Well, it's nice to be first for something, eh, Sherry? K
What a great idea--I am so not writing at the moment, but I've copied the list and who knows--maybe something magically serendipitous will ejaculate itself from the slumbering cthonic briars of my butterfly brain. I'd really like to see 'shingadoogie' in a poem. ;_)
My eyes played this trick and then I nearly added a tarot reading with many swords, but stuck to the list instead. Thanks Izzy, Kerry and De for the collaborations that brought this list to us. Very fine.
Would someone who uses "Word Press" and has been commented on by "Cloud Factor" be willing to tell him to check his 'spam.' My comments end up there, but as he has no email address I am not able to communicate with him. This often happens to me...I will also put a note on the sidebar if he checks back.
Yay! Just getting over here to retrieve the list after a busy day. Fantastic fodder for tomorrow morning's poem! Will also get around to read everybody's when I can. Thanks so much for playing! :)

ReplyDeleteSurprisingly I really enjoyed this "favorite's word list". I NEVER would have written this poem without it. I think we should do this again :)
ReplyDeleteLove to see other people's favorite words. I love the mix here, from words with special meanings to words that are fun to say. :)
ReplyDeleteI had fun with this...I went for dreamy, nonsensical...lol
ReplyDeletei agree with Margaret, let's have more word list prompts! i'll volunteer if nobody else wants to do it. words! words! words!
