Happy New Year, Toads! I thought perhaps it is okay to extend the holiday celebration a bit longer by sharing a classic. Perhaps some of you are not amongst the 35M people who have already watched this video from The Pogues and the late, great Kirsty MacColl. *Smile*
Anyway, I am sending love to all of you as 2016 comes to a close. Thank you for sharing your talent, creativity, and heart in this space. Please share again today, something new or something old, and raise a cheer to the wonder that is the Imaginary Garden. Here’s to 2017--may the collective force of poetry prevail.

Let's hope 2017 is a better year. I won't be sad to say goodbye to 2016.
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful Christmas song... absolutely one of my favorites... Have to say I know the Pogues better than Kristy.
ReplyDeleteGood morning, and Happy Holidays to all. I just want to say 'Thank you' to all those who inhabit the Imaginary Garden for maintaining this wonderful site and making welcome occasional visitors like myself. I look forward to visiting.
ReplyDeleteFinally the light begins to return,
ReplyDeletethough the winter is yet long, and bleak
for to the great light our hearts always yearn
may you approach everything in your life with love and compassion
thank you fellow frogs
Happy almost 2017. I think this is going to be a very good year, for everyone.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the video, I could not open it from here. but since its a first for me I searched the title in YouTube and got to it
ReplyDeleteMuch love...
I hate to say that I am one who has not heard that song before. i thought it perfectly melancholy, to suit my general Christmas malaise, but it also reminded mo not to take myself so seriously.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marian. You've been a wonderful co-host of the Tuesday Platform, and I am so thankful to share the spot with you.
(I'm becoming a sloppy typist. 'mo...me', lower case I.)
ReplyDeleteAs the song in the video inspired it to an extent, I'm going into the way-back machine.

ReplyDeleteI can't seem to comment on your post so "And ban the sale of Brussels Sprouts..... NOOOOOOOOO
but everything else sounds great."
It says it all in my poem I shared. Sorry it's late but I can't do the poem with Mama Zen this week although I'd love to!
ReplyDeleteI used a Word Of The Day holiday word in my poem if that counts. Lol!
I'll be around to read.
Love, Bekkie
