Are there no other European pond-dwellers here? I keep getting in first! *smile* Thank you for a lovely, lovely prompt - which once again I was derailed from. And if I haven't said it before, than you all for putting up with migrating toads (like myself), who only write for parts of the year.
Many toads go through periods of hibernation - all are welcome.
Thanks for an interesting prompt, MZ. I did some reading up on Irish bards and traditional poetry which boggled my mind a bit, but I came up with a response of sorts.
I have shared my poem Bluebells, which i wrote for my maternal grandmother on 8th march a few days after she passed away. Poetry ran far and wide in her family bloodline. Her paternal uncle (my great grandfather) was a renowned poet in his days. His work is taught in universities till date! My maternal grandfather held an interest in composing romantic poetry as well. You could say poetry runs in the family and is my legacy.
Hope you all like it. Thank you Mama Zen for this opportunity :) Much love, Sanaa
Thank you Mom Zee. This too is a nice assignment, it would have been harder for Flash 55. It would have been easier and a little more interesting story too if I could have found the family tree that my sister made and gave a copy to me. Her file was thick, I can't remember if Blind Grandpa came over on the boat or if it was his father. The wife died in transit. But at any rate Blind Grandpa's wife had died before the times I could remember. ..
Great idea, Mama Zen. I struggled with this one, it is so hot here. Yesterday I woke up freezing and now I need to turn the AC on?! My brain feel fried. It is a sauna in the south tonight~ I will try this prompt another time. I want to write something better~

ReplyDeleteThank you for the challenge, Mama Zen!
Heading out, will make the rounds when I get back. Great prompt!

A bit late to the party, but here goes. Good prompt, though I struggled with it.
ReplyDeleteSorry this a day late, but it is the truth.
