Hello Toads and Toad followers! I'm Shay Caroline, also known as Fireblossom of Shay's Word Garden. Listen, I was just sitting here on a toadstool (of course! where else?) minding my own business, when Kerry handed me tap shoes and a top hat and shoved me out here on stage! Well all right...I think I'll call this Fireblossom Fridays!
My sudden arrival (thanks, Kerry! Geez, I think her hand prints are permanently imprinted on my back!) gave me the idea for today's theme: Arrivals & Departures. Think about it. There are all kinds of arrivals and departures. Here are some arrivals...

Great prompt, Shay, and great to see you hosting, even if you're still loofahing off Kerry's fingerprints from your back. I've linked a poem I wrote specifically for this theme about my grandfather's journey from Sweden to America in the early 1900's.
I used the pic at the very top of the post as my inspiration, but sneaked in an image that seemed to suit the words better when I was done. I really had to scrape out my arteries for this one, Shay!
Oh YAY!!!! Fireblossom Fridays! I so love it. Now I have to come up with a poem. I have a Masters in Departures, I dont have far to look! hee hee. Yippee! fun prompt.
I chose the picture of the girls with the lantern. I have never attempted to write a story so I thought I would tread upon those waters It is a work in progress. Not sure how it will end.
oh sigh, i have written over and over about arriving and departing. i wrote something new today, but i think i've done better on this subject. that's how it goes, i guess :)
I've seen so many people that I follow linking up to Real Toads this week that I had to come by to see what all the fuss was about :) Great prompt, Shay. I'll def be back.
