Let's take a walk...
This time, I ask you to write a poem which features a famous person.
They may be admirable,
or not.
They may be real or imaginary,
living or dead.
They can be someone who inspires you,
Just a few rules. Yes, rules! I know, Fireblossom making rules. What's up with that? Anyway, please write an original poem for this challenge; don't just recycle an older poem. And make your famous person an important part of the piece, not just a passing mention.
Then sign the linky so we can see what you've written, and i will be around to comment! have fun!
pictures, from top: the Beatles, John F. Kennedy, Kim Kardashian, Charlie Chaplin, Gregori Rasputin, Roy Hobbs, Emmylou Harris.
After reading Shay's, I feel a bit anticlimactic, but loved the prompt and wrote about someone who is famous not in her own right, but as a muse, whom we only know as a character in her husband's writing, but who was nonetheless a real and intriguing person.
ReplyDeleteI have got a cute little hero.....thanks for the prompt.
ReplyDeleteThis one has my dormant brain spinning from one possibility to another.
ReplyDeleteThanks a bunch, Shay!!! This is a great prompt...there're more that I probably would like to write about but I snagged the first person that really stood out for me...a classic! Smiles and a happy weekend to all!
ReplyDeleteThanks for such an interesting prompt.
ReplyDeleteWonderful prompt idea!
ReplyDeleteFirst I miss Ellen's prompt and now I'm going to miss yours. I'm feeling somewhat better, but no one has told my brain yet. I can post photos, but that's about it.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry, FB, because I think this is a great idea.

Ever a favorite

that cost a quarter;
the highlight of the day.
Hope you feel better soon Kay--and Ella, hope you get your AC fixed. That is misery!
ReplyDeleteHugs to all!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the share
My icon... oh my!
Hi Fireblossom - I really enjoyed this prompt - I had almost sworn off prompts for a while--thanks much. I went the writer's route. K.
ReplyDeletefor some reason my heart does this funny flopping thing at the sight of Rasputin....I am all over this challenge, but may need a few days to ponder....
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to reading some of the entries.. :-)
ReplyDeleteMe being late seems fitting for this challenge! LOL :)
ReplyDeleteI cut and pasted the following from my Blog:
ReplyDeleteThank you Imaginary Gardens!
This is a real toad--a poem that has been in my mind since my dissertation research in 1989-90--pulled out of my history by yesterday's challenge "Fireblossom Friday ~ Get Famous." My book was not published, and so I perished from my tenure-track teaching position at W&M, but in so many other ways I came to life during the same years. Thank you Ellen Stewart and thank you Fireblossom, for helping me to celebrate her life.
If I can get the smoke signals to work . . .
ReplyDeleteLove the prompt. I knew immediately who I would write about. And it seems I am always a day late and a poem short.
ReplyDeleteThank you, everyone for participating! I think I have been around to every post--from Elvis to Emily, and from Jezebel to Bugs Bunny--but if I have somehow overlooked yours, please do let me know. I don't want to miss any of you guys's responses.
ReplyDeletelate to the party, but i did it. heavy.
ReplyDeleteOh my! You all are so classy! I just had to lower the bar a bit!
ReplyDeletesorry i'm so late ~ it'll take me a day or two to visit everyone, but really looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteFUN prompt, Fireblossom! thank you!
And I'm even later - as incentive, I've added videos of my subject. Thanks for humoring me. Mosk
