Today I want you to write the words to bring light into your own life or that of another. Whatever the struggle bring the verses to lift the spirit.
Stand Back Up ~ Sugarland
Go ahead and take your best shot,
Let 'er rip, give it all you've got,
I'm laid out on the floor, but I've been here before,
I may stumble, yeah I might fall,
Only human aren't we all?
I might lose my way, but hear me when I say,
I will stand back up,
You'll know just the moment when I've had enough,
Sometimes I'm afraid, and I don't feel that tough,
But I'll stand back up,
Try ~ Pink
Where there is desire
There is gonna be a flame
Where there is a flame
Someone's bound to get burned
But just because it burns
Doesn't mean you're gonna die
You've gotta get up and try, and try, and try
Gotta get up and try, and try, and try
You gotta get up and try, and try, and try
I am looking forward to being encouraged. There are smiles among the tears if we just spend some time seeking the words to help carry the burden.
I love that Pink song, I find it encouraging
ReplyDeleteIt sounds so simple at first, Susie, but it probably won't be an easy write.
ReplyDeleteIn my post for Aprille's dactyl prompt, I mentioned that we Toads need encouragement. It's true, we do, especially after the middle of this month, and in particular for people like you who are struggling with personal calamity.
Looking forward to tackling this in the morning.
K
an excellent post.
ReplyDeleteA very good idea for a challenge, Susie--and sometimes finding something to bring encouragement is a BIG challenge, yet I've noticed, even when we don't want to pay attention, that there is always someone or something that can...will see what my brain can do with this one.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this prompt. I tried all day yesterday to put a Quantern together. I could do the form but found no subject. Thanks for giving me one here today.
ReplyDeleteMine is a molehill to your mountain, but having been without colour and warmth for 8 weeks longer than normal, I was sliding down in spirit and outlook.
Just one hour of sunshine yesterday made the whole garden burst into colour and lifted my spirits. I so hope that there will be times that yours will be a little lighter too.
I think this year every body needs a touch of wind beneath their wings - or in their tops'l!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great subject. I'll be back tonight to give this a try!
ReplyDeleteI've given it a try. We all need a bit of encouragement every now and then. Thanks for the prompt:)
ReplyDeleteI wrote 'The Woondogger' yesterday for Poetry Jam ... thought it appropriate for today's challenge from Susie! Kind of simple, but from the heart.
ReplyDeleteWell, I wrote one in the wee hours, and was so happy it came out that I just turned off the pc and went to bed--forgot to link in. ;_) Have some things going on this morning, but will be back later to read.
ReplyDeleteOften it is about whom we surround ourselves with... Lovely prompt. Much needed, I think.
ReplyDeleteSusie — Here I am again. My poem is written. It might not be particularly encouraging in the usual sense of the word, but it might make you laugh, or just smile, both of which have been known to work wonders for the troubled soul.

I am looking forward to reading all the encouragement. I am off to write my own. :)
ReplyDeletecan't wait to read all the encouragement later, hope mine encourages someone even a fraction of how much pink encourages me
ReplyDeleteYes, we all could use a bit of encouragement!
ReplyDeleteThank you~
Off to gather and pluck words
:D
Thank you for this topic, Suzie. I posted a simple bit and will be back later for inspiration from other toads.
ReplyDeleteGreat prompt, Susie. I needed to lighten up!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for taking part in my prompt for encouragement. As I wrote on my blog I struggled with writing it today. I am in the midst of grief and trying to forgive and I needed this more than you know.
ReplyDeleteWhat makes me happy today is reading that the amazingly talented Sharon Olds has won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry for her awesome book, "Stag's Leap". There is no greater joy than sharing the joy of another. xo
ReplyDeleteThank you for today's challenge Susie. I am struggling with time these days. A bit to much on the go I'm afraid. I've given it a try for today though,,,it's great fun to be able to share at least parts of this month with all of you,,,
ReplyDeleteloved the prompt. wrote something in the spirit of it. nursing my dotty from fever. hope to come back and read!
