Good day to all garden dwellers! Here on the other side of the world, we are enjoying our Spring break, with temperatures already soaring into the mid-30sC (90sF). We are in for a long hot Summer. Whatever the weather in your parts, I trust that this Monday has dawned bright and full of promise for the coming week. As always, this is an open invitation to share a poem of your choice with the toads. I must stress that any and all of our prompts and links are open to any writer who would like to participate. Our poetry community is not exclusive, although we have a small membership working together to keep the weekly challenges rolling over. We welcome our regular followers and any new-comers to our site, so long as participation is interactive in the sense of give and take regarding commentary. Please enjoy your time spent here today, and visit again next week.

    What does it say of mankind that we suffer the deaths of our poets at violent hands?

    My thoughts today are with the people of Ghana, and the family of Professor Kofi Awoonor. What a terrible loss in the worst of circumstances.

    Hi Kerry,
    What does the latest atrocity mean? Theatre history shows control of art to be a tool of revolution. I don't know the history of other arts as well, but I know each violent death--targeted or not--should be front page news. We should note the danger of speaking and the danger of not speaking.

    Hi all, I found a 5th poem in the peace series, inspired by visiting Peace Pilgrim Park yesterday and attending an Interfaith Peace Service. TGI Monday.

    Hi Kerry ~~ I know your heart is heavy today. You did your part in writing such a lovely tribute to Professor Awoonar.

    I love the picture and the saying here. I would rather be laying amongst these flowers and weeds looking up at the sun than trying to walk the tightrope to it.
