Wednesdays with Peggy
It's in the Eyes
This week I want you to write about eyes.
What do you see when you look in someone's eyes? There are many things to be seen in eyes. Sometimes joy, pain, love, hate, acceptance, sadness, anger, mischief, innocence, evil or even blankness.
As an added twist, try to keep your poem to 75 words or less.
Thank you all for the opportunity to participate in the Pond. This will be my last prompt for now as I find my life is amazingly full these days. I will continue to come by the Pond as I can and check out what you are all writing.
And I will check out everything posted in response to this prompt!! So please post your "eyes" poems with Mr. Linky below. Write on you talented Toads!
Love, Peggy Goetz
Up late after work and decided to hammer out a poem before falling asleep. I am rather pleased with how it turned out! Thanks for the interesting prompt. Hope you all enjoy :)
ReplyDeleteHello friends....I am not sure if I've done justice to the nice and interesting prompt...
ReplyDeleteI feel the same as Sumana, but the prompt made me immediately think of a certain pair of eyes I look at every day!
ReplyDeleteMine came in at 84 words, and I pared two more to get it to 82, but i couldn't cut it any further without ruining the poem, which i think is pretty good, so I hope my excesses can be tolerated. If not, I understand.
ReplyDeleteThank you for an interesting prompt, Peggy and also for all the prompts you have brought to the garden in the last year.
ReplyDeleteClever! I love thinking about the reflection of soul's windows. Now, I can't stop singing, this song...
ReplyDeleteThese Eyes by the Who...lol
Thanks Peggy :D
Peggy, thank you. I hope you will not be far away. Best wishes to you! xo Marian
ReplyDeletePeggy, thank you for all your inspiration in the garden.
ReplyDeleteWow I am even late in posting my own poem for my own prompt. How bad is that! Thank you for the good wishes. I will not be far away--it just seems my life has gotten so very busy. Not even sure what I am busy with!! Off to read your many poems now and thank you!
ReplyDeleteI love this prompt, Peggy. During your time away, I hope you will still write and post when the spirit moves you. Visit me at Poets United too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the prompt, Peggy. Hope Spring is a time of renewal for you ~
ReplyDeleteThanks, Peggy! Mine's a short one!
ReplyDeleteWhoops! Here's another try:
ReplyDeleteMy eyes! Missed that 75-word limit.
I didn’t read it—or did, but didn’t note it.
I chose to let it slide from consciousness
just like a student who doesn’t read
directions. (Practice what you preach!)
Yikes! Here is another lesson in kindness.
I didn’t mean it. Not me. I goofed.
It was me, not my eyes. I’m sorry.
Forgive me and let me forgive me too.
And you. Thank you for being here.
I have read and commented on all the posts now and I am so impressed by the talent here. (And Susan no worry if you missed the word count). I will still be around. Keep up the great writing.
ReplyDeleteThis was a fun write, Peggy. I didn't do you justice but felt I had to write.
ReplyDeleteThank you for all you've done here on Wednesdays. Too bad you are leaving, this is my first time on Wednesday.
..
Thank you, Peggy. I revamped an old poem… this is something I will never forget -the eyes of a Great Blue Heron up close!
ReplyDeleteOh my, just realized I'm seven over the limit! Eight, including the title 'Clouds.'
ReplyDeleteOh crap! I totally forgot about the word limit until I started reading others' posts! You can remove my link if you want to since I obviously don't follow directions!
ReplyDeleteNice blog following!
ReplyDeleteEyes can be really powerful. There is so much to be said about a person hidden in them.
