Welcome to the Imaginary Garden!

As I write this on Sunday morning, February 2, the famous Punxatawney Phil has seen his shadow, predicting six more weeks of winter here in the USA. Rather than smashing my alarm clock, I retreated in my mind to a welcoming indoor garden: the one adjacent to Mark Twain’s library, pictured above. Imagine a cup of tea there, and a book of poems to read. Or a blank sheet of paper and some quiet time. Heavenly!
In this spirit, we invite everyone to share a poem with us here today. Link up any poem you like, and please remember to visit some of the other poets who have joined in. Everyone likes to know that friends have stopped by, and we all appreciate comments. I hope each of you has a moment this week to slow down with that cup of tea and something to read or write.
a spritz of rain on the left coast, though we need a torrent. good week to all ~
ReplyDeleteI enlarged the photo and let my mind sink into it, Marian, and now I'm going to...go to bed, while the effects of the photo linger.
ReplyDeleteSee you in the morning, hopefully with a new poem.
Luv, K

ReplyDeleteMonday is being unkind to me but I won't let it ruin my week, no way!

ReplyDeletegood morning, friends!
ReplyDeleteMy writing card is a little slow right now and I saw your site before and had thought about joining in so here I am. I write with you on Mag where I've been dropping in for a few years now. I wrote this because of a photo like it and found this photo that I like better. It's an older poem and thought you might enjoy it. I am a silver-haired crusader so I know! Lol! Nice to be here!
ReplyDeleteI have a snowblower and a garage... bring it on... :)
ReplyDeletetoads, i've been having a hard time of things but managed to string together a few words to describe (maybe) a scene; we'll see about that.
ReplyDeleteapologies for my absence of late, & i'm trying to rectify. (translation: trying to get my act together.)
It is getting harder and harder to find a pen that is not buried under a snow bank here... :)
ReplyDeleteHi Marian ~~ Sorry I'm so late here. I wasn't going to post but then this evening I couldn't resist. So I ginned up a little ditty with a couple of clever pictures. But the pictures wouldn't post. Maybe later.
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing this. I knew when I read your introduction that it wasn't Kerry in South Africa. No snow there.
I am a fairly big Mark Twain fan. Thank you for the gazebo reminder.
..
Jim, the Mark Twain house is in Hartford, CT. we went for the first time this past summer with our kids and all just loved it. we'll be back again soon, i'm sure!
ReplyDeleteBekkie... just a note to say that i'm unable to comment on your blog (not a Google+ member) but i enjoyed your poem, and feel like i know your crusader. :) thanks for linking up.
Oh I hear you! Last snow storm day I headed out, bought a bouquet of flowers, drank tea and enjoyed the day photographing. Soon - spring will be here.
