Hello, Toads! Today we are taking inspiration from LAURIE ANDERSON.
Thirty years later, I still find the record Mister Heartbreak as fascinating and relevant as when I first heard it. Do you?

Or maybe "O Superman" inspired you. Or Big Science, or her movie Home of the Brave. Or her collaborations with husband Lou Reed. Or her art (performance artist, visual artist, artist-in-residence at NASA, even) or her writing, or her public speaking. Interestingly, Norman Reedus (of The Walking Dead) is releasing a book of photography called The Sun’s Coming Up, Like A Big Bald Head, with Laurie Anderson’s blessing. (The title is a reference to lyrics from "Sharkey’s Day.")
Whoops! I think I've gone up twice for the same poem...
ReplyDeletelove Laurie Anderson. What a conversation she and Lou Reed must have had over the years... I'll see if I can come up with something, Marian, after a bit of sleep. ~
ReplyDeleteLove Laurie Andersen. For a while in the 80s her Big Science album was part of the soundtrack of my life.
ReplyDeleteas promised :)
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, "I think we should put some mountains here. Otherwise, what are all the characters going to fall off of? and what about stairs?"
ReplyDeleteI'll be back.
Hi kids, I love Laurie Anderson, who was big in Tofino, back in the day, as was Jane Siberry. Managed to pluck a few words out of the Word Bank this morning, in her honor:)
ReplyDeleteKerry, you must find the house so quiet, and will be missing your daughters. I remember how it felt, when my last chick left home. Sigh.

ReplyDeleteWhere have I been? I grew up in the '80s and have never heard of her or her work… I'll have to come back to this challenge when I have time to look into her work!
