I recently attended Formed in Stone: The Natural Beauty of Fossils, an exhibit featuring macro digital photographs of some of the earth's earliest life. So what do you get when you take the remains of small, 450 million year old life forms and magnify them up to sixty times? Unexpected complexity and beauty.
This provided just the nudge I needed to put my mind to some form of poetry. Thanks, MZ.
ReplyDeleteI hope it is okay to use one of these photos on my blog. I'm not sure to whom it should be attributed.
Amazing photos--off to see what I can do.
ReplyDeleteI took the pictures (of the pictures), so use them if you like, Kerry.
ReplyDeleteThanks MZ! Nice photos and theme.
ReplyDeleteI strayed a bit, MZ - hope you're OK with that ~

ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful photos!! You need no lessons from me. ha ha These past few days have been with kids at pool, barn, and shopping (poor me :) and we watched the 25th celebration of "The Phantom of the Opera" at an opera house in London - Andrew Lloyd Weber and the original cast make an appearance at the end (Netflix - watch now - I highly recommend it) So was up LATE last night… I will do this prompt even if it is posted late.
ReplyDeleteThank you…
Beautiful photos Mama Zen. Sorry to post late!!
ReplyDeleteIt's been awhile since I've participated but went looking for inspiration today and found this...thank you Mama Zen! I remembered the photos of magnified sand that I've seen...amazing...and my poem was born.

I sort of forgot to drop a line here. What cool, lovely pics MZ! Thank you for this prompt.
ReplyDeleteI have arrived so late to this party I think all there is left to do is clean up! Don't worry, I'm a mom of six and good at picking up messes :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the challenge - I think your images are gorgeous - you know how to work the iPhone! :)
I WILL be back to visit and comment - but first I must go exercise before it reaches 90 plus degrees.
ReplyDeleteHi MZ, Kerry and all, I've been terribly busy of late and just haven't even been able to contemplate doing much for myself other than some pursuit of endorphins through exercise, but the prompt has been sitting with me so finally got something up. Thanks so much, MZ--the word count made me cut the original poem considerably much to its improvement, I think. k.
ReplyDeleteVery nice Prompt and wonderful photographs... they surely encouraged my creative juices to flow :)
ReplyDeleteLinked...cheers!
