Hello, darling Toads. Fireblossom here, with another Fireblossom Friday. You know what? I just finished reading a very cool novel called "Dickenstein: Emily Dickinson--Mad Scientist" by Shannon Yarbrough. (Find my review HERE.)
That got me thinking about the current popularity of mash-ups. So let's do one! Take a well-known character or actual person, and put them in a situation that no one has ever thought of putting them in before, like Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter!
Stretch yourselves, have fun; no form or length requirements, but it must be a NEW poem written specifically for this challenge, no lumping it in with prompts from around the internet.
Hey Shay! I enjoyed your review. This is quite an interesting challenge! I am working today so don't know what I can do but will think about it. K.
ReplyDeleteI feel like the bride of Dracula right now - lost in terminal stasis without the will or energy to even make myself eat or read or watch TV. I loved the idea of this challenge and would love to join in but will have to catch up later in the month.I will certainly look forward to reading the responses tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI love that book cover!
ReplyDeleteA tricky one.. you are hereby warned.. mine is not for sensitive readers.
ReplyDeleteOh, love this! Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde as fashion designers-perhaps this could explain the 70s!
ReplyDeleteI think this is far too challenfkng for me ... I'll go drink a bottle of wine and see if that helps.
ReplyDeleteI love this challenge! I wasn't sure what I could do with it, but I managed to create something.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your review with us.
ReplyDeleteThe mash-up really sent me to put on my thinking .caps. i decided the best was a fun approach so said so done
Much love...
Hey Shay, I hope doesn't strike people's nerves the wrong way. Anyway--k.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to everyone!
ReplyDeleteGave it a shot. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Shay...this was fun once I finally picked a match to mix! :)
ReplyDeleteI will swing by and enjoy everyone's creativity - this was far too complicated for me. My imagination is on hold lately it seems - just so busy and tired lately. :)
ReplyDeleteBTW … I DID read Abraham Lincoln - Vampire Slayer and enjoyed it a lot! Not my typical reading, but you see, Shay, I do enjoy "imagination" put to fun use. I will have to check out "Dickenstein - Emily Dickinson - Mad Scientist. Thanks for the review.
ReplyDeleteDiabolical idea! And I'm in, only a day late!
ReplyDeleteI usually resist 'imaginary garden', thinking I belong to to many groups already — but how could I resist this (even coming to it rather late)? It was Fireblossom's own Quasimodo poem that hooked me!
