The Tuesday Platform

Regent's Park Open Air Theatre, London

“The stage is a magic circle where only the most real things happen, a neutral territory outside the jurisdiction of Fate where stars may be crossed with impunity. A truer and more real place does not exist in all the universe.” ― P.S. Baber, Cassie Draws the Universe

Welcome, friends and poets, to The Tuesday Platform. We have carved out a place for ourselves in the realms of cyberspace, and this has become the platform on which to present our creative work. Our audience may be invisible to the eye but we feel their presence just beyond the footlights; we trust them to afford us the opportunity to shine for a brief moment on the stage. All-comers are invited to share a poem of their choosing, and then to become a member of the audience themselves, giving their fellow performers the benefit of their attention and feedback.

The Tuesday Platform rolls over to Wednesday, so late entries are also welcomed.

  1. Hi Kerry, Toads, and Friends. You are making me ready all over again with the picture. But I will wait until May for the Regent's Park again.
I was tempted to relist my Saturday/Sunday poem as I got a late start on that one. But perhaps later on.

  2. Hi there.. What a glorious scene you have here, and I spent yesterday evening writing a glosa that is kind of dark.

  3. Hi all -- Heraclitus said that Dionysos and Hades were the same, which means that this stage is for both our drama and its darker, unfolding dream. The masked dancer behind our poems invites us to speak, dance, play, sing along ... so raise the curtain and let the show begin!

  4. Brendan, I left a very long comment on your poem, It might have ended up in the spam filter... :-) Your thought about time was very interesting, and I added some thoughts about modern Physics and time with connection to your poem.

  7. Happy Tuesday everyone! I am posting a poem I wrote in 2012. Kerry, take care. Don't worry about being late to respond right now. Your plate is full.

  8. I always wanted to be on stage singing. At best when I was younger I helped out with my uncle's band. In his spare time outside of work, he and his 60's and 70's classic rock band played all around the city. I was intrigued by all that I saw as I taped wires down to the stages and carried equipment back and forth. This is a poem reflecting my observations on playing the part of a part time roadie.

  12. Hey Kerry--good luck with the move. Having moved kids I know that is a lot! I am also a little hectic and haphazard with commenting as traveling and a bit tired. Good luck!
