The first Sunday of a new month is upon us again, and it is time for Flash 55. The rules of this prompt have not changed: Write a piece of poetry or prose on a subject of your choice in precisely 55 WORDS.
Hi Kerry, I did one thinking about Zen and one just thinking about life (which may actually be more zen). Posted the zen one, though the other quite a bit better as a poem, so maybe post both. k.
Please don't un-Mr.Linky me tonight. I worked hard, went to copy my link, and then I discovered that I missed the Zen request until I saw it at the end. The best I did was to decline but MENTION THE SITE. Perhaps some of my readers will go there. It might have been fun. Tomorrow? Probably not, we are still very, very busy. ..
Hi Jim, the Zen is an OPTIONAL part of the challenge. Any 55 word poem is suitable for this prompt.
For those interested in a few basic steps to writing koan, here is a link to a previous mini-challenge which might shed some light. The only problem is the 55 word count, because this seems to come out a little shorter.
I have rather an antipathy to Zen(don't ask--it comes from my first marriage) but I have no intention of missing a 55. I'll let othersa be the judge of how Zen my effort is, but thanks, Kerry, for keeping this meme alive. Will comment when I can, as lots of work ahead today.
I tried the Mr Linky widget again and it said I was already added. You can get to my page from mt comments. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. Tech is not my forte
Oh, I missed the magic~ I will make some Zen tea and return to indulge in these offerings~ I love the photo, I am working on a poeTEA journal, these days.
Zen.. wonderful.. I tried my best.
ReplyDeleteGood one, Kerry. Thank you.

ReplyDeleteI'm not very Zen, but the link to the Zen poems helped. Very interesting to try and get myself into that way of thinking!
ReplyDeleteGreat 55 plus. I needed cleansing expression.
ReplyDeleteHello everyone,
ReplyDeleteWell this was fun :D posting my poem "Intuition", for the Flash 55 plus challenge. Hope you all like it.
Thanks Kerry for this amazing challenge! :D
Lots of love
xoxo
Great prompt...I did it! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteKarin, by all means post both. The 55 lends itself to several attempts.

ReplyDeleteHi Kerry ~~ Running late as usual. I took your advice and posted an oldie, March 2009, version. Smoke. Smoked.
ReplyDeleteThat was a nice interview you did with Sherry, I was glad to learn of your teaching and of your kids.
