Greetings to all poets and friends!
It is time for this month's Flash 55 Challenge. The rules of this prompt have not changed: Write a piece of poetry or prose on a subject of your choice in precisely 55 WORDS.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
PLUS!
The optional extra for this challenge comes in the form of a song:
O Fortuna, composed by Carl Orff (1935 - 1936) and featured in the iconic 1981 movie, Excalibur, directed by John Boorman.
I suggest you pump up the volume and let the words and song inspire your poetic thoughts!
I have to admit I peeked, and wrote this earlier this morning--a wonderful plus, Kerry--thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeletea 55 is a goad to this toad. out to an art-walk, back later to read... ~
ReplyDeleteI totally wrote from my reaction to the music, no editing. Thanks Kerry for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteHaha! Hedge, I thought this might appeal to you. Glad to see the responses are coming so quickly.
ReplyDeleteFantastic plus...thanks for the inspirado!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely loved the video; thanks for a lovely Saturday prompt Kerry
ReplyDeletemuch love...
My response is combined with Hannah's prompt so I have linked it to both challenges.
ReplyDeleteLove Carmina Burana.. had to do this, even if it's a little sooty.
ReplyDeleteAs a casual fan of opera, I knew "O, Fortuna", but never knew what the words meant. Now i do!
ReplyDeleteOr, is it "Oaf Or Tuna"?
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the plus but took the opportunity to look at and be inspired by a link that Sherry sent me earlier this week. Thank you, for the challenge, Kerry!
ReplyDeleteHey Kerry--I have been terribly busy at work and did not have a chance to listen to the Carmina Burana before thinking of a 55--I'd heard it before, but it really is so inspiring--I'll see if I can come up with another--or, if not, just carry it around with me for a bit. k.
ReplyDeleteMe and Arthur got all mixed up today! :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat prompt!
ReplyDeleteWell, I intended to follow the prompt but fifty-five other words came.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
Nice flash prompt, Kerry. It got me out of hiding, I couldn't resist.
ReplyDeleteWe are moved though hardly any of my boxes are unpacked. Mrs. Jim has first priority on that.
