Happy New Year to all Toads and Pond-Dwellers!
A Flower unblown: a Book unread:
A Tree with fruit unharvested:
A Path untrod: a House whose rooms
Lack yet the heart’s divine perfumes;
A Landscape whose wide border lies
In silent shade ’neath silent skies:
A wondrous Fountain yet unsealed:
A Casket with its gifts concealed:—
This is the Year that for you waits
Beyond To-morrow’s mystic gates.

ReplyDeleteGood morning, kids. I am buckling under the fatigue of all the visiting and celebrating - surely, a good complaint. Smiles. But looking forward to a slower pace , with writing as the first priority, in the new year.
ReplyDeleteI love that picture!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you, Marian xoxoxoxo (copy of yours X 2).
ReplyDeleteI like your toad, he looks wise, very wise after reading gobs of poems and other writings. I wrote 'another writing', true, about what happened to me yesterday morning. More not into the poem/writing that wouldn't fit my form.
..
Oops that link auto-filled, though it's still the newest I have.
ReplyDeleteLoving the toad this week.
I wrote a new one for today (the beauty of writing short forms.) Love the poem posted, thanks for posting it and posting prompts that get my words flowing! Last year I lost one of my favorite writes, (I think the person running it has lost interest after so long, it happens) so now you have my full interest and you so deserve it! Hey, no pressure! Lol! I look forward to a year of writing with such lovely toads Happy New Year!
