Muhammad Ali (1942 - 2016) |
Do you have any words written on the passing of Muhammad Ali, which you would like to share today? It has been a heart-breaking month in many respects, and you may have further commentary to make on lessons learnt. However, the platform is yours, and anything goes. Please select a poem of your choice and link it up below.
Happy Tuesday to all... This year seems to be a year of parting with past... without the benefit of looking forward to new... I link up a poem inspired by one of the poets that left us last year: Tomas Tranströmer.
ReplyDeleteMorning, Toads! I'd like to get your take on this one, and don't be shy!
ReplyDeleteAfter reading the prompt and some of your poems -- I'm thinking of the places we come from, who we are -- and why. How it all shapes us into our selves.
ReplyDeleteThe poem I'm linking up is one I wrote in response to another prompt here -- "I come from." Since I don't have any writing on Mr. Ali -- this seems to fit the moment best.
Hi kids. I posted a poem about another death that breaks my heart. Am loving the poems on Mohammed Ali......wonderful words!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHello everyone, please pardon me, but I don't have any Ali poems, rather, am linking a poem about depression. How it has been triggered earlier, than normal, by the Orlando Massacre. And I hope, my author's note is wrong about this latest bout of depression.
ReplyDeleteMy Muhammed Ali's words. Didn't even know I had so many. Thanks Kerry for today's prompt
ReplyDeleteMuch love...
I was glad to have the opportunity to write about Ali. though I had not thought to do so until I read your suggestion.
ReplyDeleteLike Rosemary, did it for you and Ali. I had some pictures, no poem. So, fix that and I tried
ReplyDelete..
Sorry, I had the wrong link on the first one.
ReplyDeleteMy brother is visiting from Florida this week and I've been too busy to even bike so I combined my write with 3 groups this week. I'm lucky it worked out that way. Lol!
ReplyDeleteI offer a haiku so it'll be a short and sweet read.
As for Ali, my father was a wrestler but first a boxer and he fought Ali when he was still Clay. My father said he hit hard and lost that match. This was before Ali was really famous. Later on my father gave up boxing for wrestling. We like to kid that Ali was responsible for that.
I hope everyone has a good week!
Hugs! Bekkie
