Oooh! I love a trinket! Thank you for always giving us amazing words to work with, Marian.
ReplyDeleteNice prompt word. I wanted to go with something different than the expected "he wore me like a trinket" and so on so I based my haibun on a recent adventure of pulling corn in a field to freeze for winter months. I also made it short and sweet - 44 words, a quadrille.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great word to work with, Marian!
ReplyDeleteGreat post Marion, thank you. I have contributed a piece about trifling with love.
ReplyDeleteHello Toads. It is I, the Ghost Of Garden Past. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love this one-word challenge.
ReplyDeleteSuch a delightful word! Couldn't resist. (With a little unwitting help from Magaly.)
ReplyDeleteCatching up and doubling (trebling) up on prompts... Phew!
ReplyDeleteFriends, wow, my kids and I have been at a cosplay convention Thurs-Fri-Sat, whew! Wonderful but I'm sooooo tired. Am drinking coffee and trying to recover and will be around to read your poems!!
ReplyDeleteAlso I just want to say that if you don't know Cosmos Cami... she is a poet from Utah who visits our Garden on the irregular. I adore her writing and her! And she is a totallly badass quilter. Visit her Instagram! xoxox
Trinkets, 24 is the circulating number of Trinkets that was given to the American Indian tribe in exchange for Manhaten Island, NYC. (There could have been other items in the exchange as well, but not money.) Most of us have a few trinkets in our treasure chest.
ReplyDeleteI.e. Marian, you have chosen another word worthy of study and ready for our 'pens'.
BTW, we have also been out of town last week, visiting a 99-year-old cousin in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Have heard from another cousin this morning, except for fallen trees they are okay.
..
Thanks for a lovely Prompt Marian!
ReplyDeleteLove the word choice!
ReplyDeleteI have read all the poet’s contributions to this post. But unfortunately, many of thw Blogger sites won’t accept my comments. Truly sorry.
ReplyDeleteHank, Jim, Rosemary, Kerry, Susie — your Blogger sites rejected my comments... but I enjoyed all your pieces?
ReplyDeleteSorry, Rob and others. I've had some terrible spam comments and harrassment. For the past ten years I have it set for Google accounts only with moderation after 14 days. Quite a few open a Google account with no blog just to be able to comment. Google wants to cotroll the whole cyber world, I bowed here.

Rob, geez, commenting can be really challenging. I feel your pain!
