Words Count With Mama Zen

Greetings, Toads!

As you may or may not know, today is National Boss Day here in the U.S. portion of the Garden.  It's a day set aside to honor, recognize, and appreciate those special people that already make more money and wield more power than the rest of us.  Now, doesn't that just make you want to pop a champagne cork?  Yeah, me, too.

In honor of Boss Day, let's swap some war stories.  What's the dumbest thing your boss has ever done? Who earned your eternal scorn as the worst boss ever?  Or, are you a dreaded boss yourself? Anything goes, as long as it's boss related.  Just keep it to 67 words or less.

Meetcha at the water cooler!

  1. LOL! I'll be curious to see how many truthful comments from those that are still in the work force

    Maybe anonymously

I would inject my experiences but I have a feeling that you're wanting to hear anecdotes of interesting perspectives. I was a 'man' in a 'mans' corporate world

    Buena suerte, mi amiga

  4. In the academic environments I've been part of, we didn't use the word "boss." Too bad. It's a great word, as is 'bossy" and "emboss." Using it could have reminded silly innocents that the power differential "disturbs" collaboration. I've glossed my war stories, not wanting to go there.

  5. Fun prompt MZ. I will think on this topic and be back to link! I had mostly good bosses I think -- at least they were people I liked. Even so I never wanted to be a boss myself--probably one of the reasons I did not want to be a classroom teacher. It was hard enough telling my own kids what to do!

  9. This was hard for me... I'm afraid mine isn't very good - more of a journal entry than a poem.

  11. This was hard for me on the level of personal politics as I have worked at the same place for many years and, well, I need my job! Also, I really like my bosses. (I need the job! Ha.) But I do like them a lot. Anyway, so used something related to my mother. Thanks, MZ.

  13. Thanks for writing, guys! My current boss (the ten-year-old with the broken arm and the stomach bug) is being pretty demanding at the moment, but I'll be around soon.
