Play it Again, Toads! #16

"Neapolitan Song" 1929 Oil on Canvas
Joseph Stella
Welcome to the 16th "Play it Again, Toads!" where we revisit archived challenges of this amazing Imaginary Garden.   Choose your own challenge that interests you from the archives on the sidebar (2011-2015) or select from three I've highlighted below.

You may use my photos I am sharing with you here (but certainly not required) - if so, please use the photo with an archived challenge.  Click on any image to enlarge and to see the details more clearly.   I took these photos while visiting the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington D.C.

You may rework old poems or submit original poems and link your specific post to Mr. Linky below.  Please make it clear which challenge you are resurrecting by including a link.  If you share poetry here, please take time to visit and comment on the other poetic endeavors.

  1. Thanks for the gorgeous pictures, Margaret. There are several prompts this month that I want to return to but you have given an excellent choice too. Decisions, decisions!

  3. I am catching up today and may do all three prompts. I will understand if you do not feel the need to comment on all of them - it is more for my own personal challenge to complete the 30 poems in 30 days (I'm only on 24).
The second link does reveal the face of my newest pup, for those who would like to see her.

    :-)

  4. I've been in love with Georgia O'Keeffe for many years. It's nice to be given an opportunity to say so.

  6. A great sampling, Margaret. I loved Kerry's envelope challenge the first time, and have gone back to it. I have a full day of gardening ahead now as storms are headed in for later, but will be back to visit this evening.

  9. Since I will not do the 30 poems... I had to do 30 sonnets instead.. Thankful for the extensive library, I found one by Kenia on tercets, so my Terza Rima rhyme scheme fitted well..

  10. I should know to stay away from intricate form poetry, but I still can't! Thanks for forcing (well, I know you didn't really) my hand in this! Excellent prompt!

  11. Margaret, I married the "hills are alive with the Sound of Music" ladies with Marian's ABC prompt. Too much fun. I knew exactly what the story was when I saw the image!! Love to all, Amy

  13. Thank you all for such an awesome response - I have read most on my iPhone but will wait for the morning to respond on my computer -so much easier for me to type. I might add mine late - Monday - this NaPoWriMo is far too swift for me this year.

  15. Hey Margaret thanks--great art--I made my own illustration as I am so tired I had to go with poem that occurred to me in thinking of the envelope rhyme, which I chose to do. So some lines came to mine and I just went with those. Thanks for the choices of prompts--they were all great ones. k.
