Get Listed! ~ The Compound Word Edition

Do you love words like superstructure, riverbank, carpetbagger as much as I do? I find they have a very satisfying effect upon the tongue and mind.

The word challenge for our month of April Madness is to use compound words in constructive and imaginative ways.

  1. I do love compound words, especially the ones that (like you suggest) make funny pictures in my head, or interesting sounds in my ears. I can't remember how young I was when I felt in love with the word "backbone", but it was one of my first loves.

  7. I'm happy to know this is a fun challenge. Unfortunately, my own fun is being curtailed by a Parent-Teacher meeting this evening (There is a compound word I could live without!) I may have to come back to this one myself.
