Nobody wants to see a movie where they get together, they work in the shoe store for forty years, they watch the late news and then die. Whether it's a joyful or a tragic story, make us feel it! Take a risk. Let your heart show.

So, come on. Tell us about two people. Tell us a love story. I do ask that your poem be a new one, written for this prompt, and that you kindly link back to Toads. Don't forget to sign the linky, so that everyone can come and see. Happy writing!

i'm afraid my poem isn't BIG, but i hope you feel it's acceptable, Ms Fireblossom.
i can't believe i got here first! {jumping up and down with excitement}
i'll be back Friday to visit others. thanks for the fabulous prompt!
♥
Very interesting, Casablanca has always been among my favorite movies. Greetings.
It is very early morning here.
I post poems when sleep deprived only to assure that I will post at all. This might move you or someone, or might be too silly and private and true. I will wave once and exit right.
Hi, Toads! I've been feeling unwell for a couple days and that has derailed my own writing, temporarily. But I hope to write something tonight, and meanwhile, I hope that everyone enjoys writing their screen-worthy love poems! I look forward to visiting all of you!
Feel better soon. A romance in your head might just do the trick.
So, I will try again later!
My muse has been rebellious this week! Refuses to co-operate. Hoping this changes soon. Nice prompt, Shay. Do feel better.
oooh, I so looove movies~Great challenge Fireblossom~ Could someone pass the popcorn?!
I also seem to have hit the writing doldrums lately, but with a prompt like this, I think anyone can find something to write about. Thanks for the memories of all those movies, Shay, to get the feelings going.
I can relate to the writing derailment... hopefully things will get better for me once the kids are back in school, which is next week.
Great challenge, Shay. I already wrote the best love poem I will ever write some years back, you know the one. But I will try to write a new one. Mine would be more like the working in the shoe store for forty years tho, given my experiences in the Land of Love. Hee hee. I do hope you feel better soon but also that, while you dont, you enjoy lying down and resting. Watch good movies!
Couldn't think of a better prompt to suit me than movies :)
Hope you feel better soon Shay.
Knock knock- may I come in? I happened to write a love poem yesterday which I love... and as I don't write much lately...
Thanks for the prompt FB!!!
PS... and I hope you get better soon, my dear Shay... please do not feel obliged the inviting and posting of this is more than enough to me today... ;-)
hugs
I love this prompt as I'm an incurable movie nut! The first movie that popped into my mind (I have absolutely NO idea why) was "Ryan's Daughter" which I saw for the first time in the early 70s. David Lean (of Dr. Zhivago fame) created a second (in my humble opinion) masterpiece with this love story. The sound tract was also amazing. "It Was A Good Time" running throughout the film in many musical variations. Not sure I can do the film justice, but I will try.
Thanks Shay for the inspiration. When I saw the prompt, I knew I would have to do my take on Romeo and Juliet. My husband and I are celebrating our 42nd wedding anniversary next week and we have a not so romantic connection to the film Romeo and Juliet from 1968.
Thanks for the good wishes, everybody. They must have worked cos I feel a lot better tonight. :-) My poem is up.
Ugh...sorry to hear you're not feeling well, Shay.
It is kind of funny bc the prompt at Flashy Fiction got me writing the love scene in "Ghost," yesterday!!
My poem today is a bit different...hope it fits!
Smiles to the poetical peeps!! :)
For most of the day, my muse told me to go "love" myself, but I finally got something up!
Well , MAMA! that's the greatest of loves > to the self!
And for wordpress blogs, please excume I cannot comment there- still donot know why! :-(
"I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell ..." That kind of unwell? Or the sick variety? :) So glad you're feeling better, either way.
I wrote you a little something. But you know I don't do "big," or love poetry. Silliness is my genre.
Did we have to write about a movie? I missed that in the prompt. I thought it was just love in general. Sorry if I botched it.
Been trying to actually do a prompt here for a while....just cannot get my act together....glad I made it this time even though I am sooooo late. Hi all you toads....and thanks Shay for another wonderful prompt! :-)
Flipside...no, it does not need to be about a movie.
Away from home, so kind of pressed in ways but have been thinking about this and finally, belatedly, got something together = hope not too late. k.
My husband and I were lucky enough to catch the 70th anniversary showing of "Casablanca" on the big screen this past March... it was AMAZING!
I decked out in vintage gear (mink hat and stole, cat eye glasses, and gloves) for the occasion, and posted about it here: http://mrssplapthing.blogspot.com/2012/03/casablanca-night.html
Come on over and visit if you want to see pictures from the best date night ever!
