It is a new week, in a new month and what better way to enjoy this day than to take a break in the garden and read poetry?
The month of July is especially dear to the toads, as it marks our Blog Anniversary: our second year is now complete, with a remarkable 103 Open Link Mondays. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our members, past and present, for the amazing contribution they have made towards the success of Real Toads. This project is a team effort, which is bigger than any one person, and it caters for a variety of poets. I give the warmest thanks to all our followers, who regularly link up poems to our prompts and challenges. Your participation and support is greatly appreciated.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Kerry, on your two year anniversary with Open Link Mondays. I have enjoyed my time with it, you and your guys do a good job.
ReplyDeleteI really like the Toads that I know (blog know).
The garden picture for this week again is a good pick. Those rocks look like grown-up versions of the smooth pebbles that I throw.
..
Something fluffy and frivolous today, Kerry, as I've been very busy and very serious for a few days, which is a new record for me.

ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary, Link Mondays and Kerry.
ReplyDeleteI have met some wonderful people in this link
Gracias to all my amigas and amigos
Happy week to all ~
ReplyDeleteHappy Canada Day to all Canadian bloggers & writers ~
Happy 2nd year, may the third be as intense and stimulating! Happy Canada Day and week to all East and West!
ReplyDeleteMy poem today is inspired by Fireblossom's Friday Prompt in this Garden, and about my publish-or-perish loss. I think it may seem lighter than what FB was after, so I put it here.
Wow, two years? Congratulations, Kerry!
ReplyDeletetwo years... hard to believe.
ReplyDeleteIn the morning light I see that those "large rocks" are giant mushrooms.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for a garden message!!!
..
Two years, It goes so quickly. I am so grateful to be part the garden where I can read and grow.
ReplyDeleteI adore this platform and all that it offers.Thank you everyone and happy anniversary.
ReplyDeleteP.S. someone please convince Marian to restart the comment box on her blog so that we who love her poems, get to share our admiration.
Also I have a request: poets like Laurie Kolp, Isadora Gruye, Kim Nelson, Kenia and other formerly regulars can no longer be seen so frequently. I adored their poems and miss their shares. So, If you guys are reading this, I hope you will come back to the garden more regularly.
ReplyDeletehi Abin, I wanted to write you directly but can't figure out how. drop me a quick note at runawaysentence at gmail? :)
ReplyDeleteTwo years, wow.
ReplyDeleteI've linked up a post which includes poetry amongst some prose and discusses both and how they've been important to me over the last seven months. It's not a "poem" per se by my definition but it's very real and I hope you'll accept it in the link and enjoy it.
Congrats on the 2 years! From Canada, it has been great to drop in to the site and make a contribution or two as the prompts are so inspiring and varied! :)
ReplyDeleteSo many of you are visual artists as well as poets... the fire (pyros) that blossoms (anthos) Aethena from the skulls of acetic lightning gods of earth and time as well as word smiths each some tale of Alice in the looking glass eating mushrooms. In the walk last night as we consider our work of dreams I pass by a fashion shop window and took these photos to make one archetypal vision.
ReplyDeleteI love the photo! I wish we could all meet and celebrate ;D
ReplyDeleteThere's an umbrella tree in our new back yard that looks like one of those mushrooms!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited... this is the first installment of a work in progress, but waaaaaah, it's not poetry, sorry. Can't wait to read y'all! And welcome LaTonya!! Amy
FINALLY made it here. My five year old son swallowed too much water tonight at the pool (he has learned he MUST close his mouth while doing canon balls into the pool). He became sick and had a very sore tummy - and bit of "sickness". He is sound asleep and now I am free to visit a bit. Forgive me - I still have catching up to do, but will begin here...
