I love red…
I hope everyone has a great

Crimson is one of the reasons
why I get so absolutely excited about the Winter Solstice. In North America, the holly
bush gets decked up in bright berries. Most stores, streets and homes in New
York City go red and glitter crazy this time of the year.
While flying around some of my
friends’ cyber-homes, looking for red and fun, I ran into this lady:
“Red Riding Hood” herself,
crafted by the gifted Rhissanna Dollmaker. I’ve admired Rhissanna’s
dolls for some time. I love the detailed work, the way the artist shares the process over at her blog… When it comes to the wee lady above, I love the
dress, the smirk on her face, and the red cape; the basket, with its
miniature goodies, is also a real treat.

I love all bright colors.. the more the merrier.. but I still end up dressing in black...
Feliz Monday. i dress in different colors to energize myself.
Can't believe it's already Monday of the lst week of November! In your honor Magaly, I'll wear something very colorful today,
Ha! I am laughing at Bjorn's comment. As a New Yorker, I've worn black for years, but I am expanding my spectrum lately with quite a bit more color! I feel very odd when I wear it but everyone always likes it and, honestly, why not have the fun?
But it is hard if you are used to black black black. I am hoping to post a very short sketch today--prose rather than poem--if that is okay. Thanks. k.
The dolls are amazing - and such an interesting blog to browse through! Thanks for sharing Magaly and Rhissanna.
Monday! & this mama gots her red dress on, even before i saw your prompt, Magaly :) good morning!
What a beautiful doll! I'd love to have one.
@manicddaily, I'm the New Yorker who fills the subway and streets with bright colors. When I taught, the color mania was contagious--my students would come to class in bright reds, intense blues and greens that made the eye think of young tealeaves. But the New Yorker always shines through, so I tend to default to red and black, lol!
@Everyone, I so happy to see red dancing everywhere! ♥
Looking forward to reading some good poetry today. Happy Monday, everyone.
A little something on the lighter side for you this morning, Toads!
Amazing doll! I hope everyone has a good week!
Maybe Stockholm thinks that it's New York.. but black is the preferred color for all here...
