Today is the day we put the "mini' back into the Sunday Mini-Challenge, and return to the option of form poetry. The object of this challenge is to write a poem in no more than 10 lines (but you may write in fewer than 10 lines all the way down to a single American sentence). You may choose your own form or stick to free verse, if preferred. For those who would like a bit of guidance, or further choice, I have provided a link to The Poet's Garret, showing a variety of 6 line poems (or sestets).
The subject matter for your poem is wide open, but bear in mind the 'one this snowflake' angle. I look forward to reading a number of short poems, from Saturday through to Monday. The link does not expire, so please feel free to write more than one poem, and a return to comment on poems linked later would be appreciated.

ReplyDeleteHi Kerry ~~ I like e.e. cummings though I haven't read a lot of his stuff (I do have a link to his complete poems). I enjoyed his "The Enormous Room," a 1922 autobiographical novel, his first, about his captivity by the French during WWI. Connections of his father and family got him released faster once the father knew where he was.

I love micro poetry and enjoyed playing around with the shape of the poem - just a shame that when I copied it to WordPress it lost its shape and I had to sort it out again!

ReplyDeleteHi ho, am without a computer right now, working on my tablet. I responded to this prompt with Like Flawless Magicians, but don't know how to link with a tablet. Great prompt. I came up with mine while picking up dog poop in my yard....the stuff of transformation!
ReplyDeleteThis was perfect for this week I had "one" in mind and included a snowflake in another, more melted form. Lol! I enjoyed the photo I know the photographer who does these from Google+. He's from Russia grows them on wool, photographs them and is a really nice guy. Have a great week!
