The Tuesday Platform

My anxiety is currently reserved for the month of April, and the prospect of tackling a poem a day. How about you? Meanwhile, this weekend I got to attend a reading and book signing by my literary hero, novelist Michael Chabon. Believe me, yours truly experienced A Big Moment in this brief encounter. Have you had one of those lately? Do share!

On this and every Tuesday in the Imaginary Garden, the rules are simple: Share a poem with us, and visit others during the week. Share and share alike!

  1. Sounds like a milestone moment, Marian.

  2. That sounds so neat Marian I've never been to a book signing by any of my favorite authors but I can think of a few that would "wow" me big time. So happy for you, what fun!

Linked up to my Haiku Horizon write. I have a pulled tendon in my elbow so am moving slowly this week. Have a good week Toads! Hugs!

  3. Am hoping April will kick my muse into gear, she has been hibernating. Will make my rounds as I am able, off to babysit the beautiful baby Lunabella this morning. Yay!

  4. Thanks, Kerry. Your routine Tuesday of the three is started here now for you. I am glad that you got to attend the reading and signing. I should look your favorite up. I may have a writing for here later. We will see.

  5. To be at a book-signing like that sounds like a thrill... Hmm usually I write a poem per day every month but April... April is when wilderness calls usually.

  6. Marian--I've had several moments like that. One, seeing and speaking with John Reynolds Gardiner (who wrote "Stone Fox"). Another--hearing George R. R. Martin talk--I love his book "Fevre Dream." Rick Bragg. Anne Lamott.

I'm glad you had such a great time. Connecting with an author we love is exciting.

  7. I'm sorry, Marian. Kerry always takes this. Glad you met Chabon. I took your advice and checked out Telegraph Avenue, digital Kindle, a couple of minutes ago from our library. The have four on Kindle, this one looked best. Now I have to find time to read it. Maybe speed read it?

  8. Sioux... yes!
I hope you like the book, Jim. I don't think Chabon is a good candidate for speed reading, as his gift with language is really worth savoring. Just saying!

  9. Hope the writing goes smooth for you Marian....I am sure you will do wonderful. My contribution is a story not a poem, hope that is okay. Just glad I made it here this week. :-)
