April is for Fools and Poets

Welcome to April in the Imaginary Garden! We will be celebrating Poetry Month by offering prompts each and every day, supporting and encouraging all poets who want to attempt writing 30 poems in April or any fraction thereof. Enjoy!

Naturally, today’s prompt to kick us off is... FOOL

I am two fools, I know,
For loving, and for saying so
         In whining poetry--

(John Donne, The Triple Fool)

Write about being a fool or being fooled, not being fooled again, or foolin’ around, All Fools’ Day, fool’s gold, foolish behavior, foolish words, fool me twice, you fool!

Ready, set, go! We can do this, no foolin’ neither.

well, good luck to all the fools. I'm swamped with work, physically challenged, and so of course a poem a day is *exactly* what I need. but what the heck. cheers! ~ M

I composed something foolish at poetryofthenetherworld.blogspot.com
Sorry I can't do a proper Linky. I am on my phone tonight and it's a slow and horrible process.

Deep breath... take the plunge....

I hope to complete 15 poems this month, when I doubt I have written 15 poems this year. Each one will be an achievement, an exercise in discipline and a bit of fun.

It's about time I joined in some writing challenges. Been awhile.

I added your link, Cara... hope that's okay!

We can do this! I always whine about how busy I am and figure I can't do it, but somehow I always do. I figure this year to be no different, so COMMENCE WHINING NOW. xoxox Happy Poetry Month, friends!! Marian

Haven't done any challenges for awhile, looking for a month of fun, checking in with the toads again :-)

Hey All! I am in such a kind of low place at the moment but really hoping to be recharged and re-focused! So trying! I posted my over long prompt for both yesterday's and today, hoping to great credit for today. I'll put up prompt for tomorrow soon. k.

I always challenge myself with April because in late winter, my Muse goes into hibernation. Time to kick it into gear. Thankfully some words came this morning. Am going to Tofino today, but will have my tablet with me, so will keep up as best I can, between beach walks and sunsets! Smiles.

I am leaping into the challenge. (There has been some grumbling.) Looking forward to reading some fabulous poetry this month!

I have removed the faulty link for Ellecee. Please relink if you return and find it is gone.

Full of enthusiasm, as always on the first day (can't believe I haven't really written in a year!). Brilliant prompt (rarely disappointed by the toads), so hope it's OK if I join in.

Of course, CC Champagne. All are welcome. The more make for a merrier April.

Truth: Mine was based on the prompt from Poetic Asides, but ... the prompt over there was "fool," too, so I thought it would be OK to link here today. :)

I can't open Brendon's at all and I can't post a comment on Cara's and possibly Terisa (hope it took - those two I read and really enjoyed them ladies.

I'm in this month as much as I can be and getting a late start as I caught the terrible flu that's been going around. I'm just starting to be able to think again it really wipes one out. Glad to be back I'll try and keep up as I've been looking forward to this. Can't wait to read all the great poems. Hugs!
