It is time for this month's Flash 55 Challenge. The rules of this prompt have not changed: Write a piece of poetry or prose on a subject of your choice in precisely 55 WORDS.

PLUS!
For the OPTIONAL EXTRA part of this challenge, I invite you to consider The Classics in whichever form appeals to you: Novels, Music, Art. I have used the term loosely in these examples, but if you prefer to kick it old school, then here is information regarding the Greek and Roman Classics.

My first time posting a Flash 55 here. I have no idea why this inspired me to tilt at windmills so quickly, but it did. And here you have it.
Still on my tablet. I have a creation for today's prompt at poetry of the netherworld.blogspot.com
What a challenge...turning a Flash 55 into a poem...Loved it.
Apologies... For some reason, I am finding my comments on Wordpress blogs seem to disappear. Just happened again with Raivenne's post...
Hope I got the prompt right! Enjoyed writing the response regardless :)
Now responses to Kim and Adam have disappeared too. I think I'll just respond to Blogger blogs...Apologies again.
Fun challenge, Kerry. K.
Cara, the link you gave me takes me to a 2012 page and I can't find the post you mean to be linked up here. Please paste the URL of the poem your want linked and I'll happily do so.
Gemma, Just to let you know, I can see your comment on Raivenne's post.
I am not very "versed" in the classics so I have chosen a more recent book for my first attempt at Flash 55 Plus and our third day of NaPoWriMo
Fantastic challenge Kerry!
Adam, I can't see your blog. When I hit the link it says it cannot be displayed.
Susie, I was able to visit Adam's site.
55, light on the classics, from me. April, so far, so good!
hey all y'all, back a bit later. always love a 55... ~
I did a combination of this one and the prompt over at Poetic Asides (Three ___), and -- a bit of a stretch -- to write on the general subject of attention all this month.
Ha, for once I wrote a short poem and thought it might work for flash 55. But when I counted the words, there were only 25-ish, and I didnt want to clutter it up with 30 more.....this rather astounds me, wordy as I am. Smiles. Enjoying all of yours to the max though!
So funny. Cant wait to read these and revisit and try my hand at it at a later date... on a mini weekend getaway with the kids...
Great prompt! I'll have to read all these lovely poems in the morning. G'night all.
Ah. this was delightful! I completely abandoned all hope of thinking about actual literary/poetic classics. My Emily Dickenson went all to the Dickens. But anyway... Love y'all! Amy
I'm finally feeling better! I thought I'd be sick forever! Lol! Now that I am better spring is back on my mind so I wrote about it. I didn't do the Plus part but I did the 55 with "Spring Forth." I'm trying to do a prompt a day but not sure I'll get them all done. I will be around to read just give me some time. Have a good week Toads! Hugs!
