Open Link Monday

Welcome to the Imaginary Garden...

Source (with accompanying music)

Good day to all poets and friends. I do hope this 11th day of the 11th month will be a Remembrance Day, not only of those who have lost their lives in wars during the last century, but also an opportunity to remember some of the achievements and advances made during this troubled time of history.

I have not set any particular theme or restriction to today's Open Link, so please select a poem of your choice to share. We welcome all to this meme, and love to see new faces in the garden. Please take some time to visit the posts of your fellow poets. Your encouragement means a great deal to everyone here.

  2. Hello, Kerry. This poem came barreling out of me yesterday. It's not perfect, but it's pushy. It made me get up early to come downstairs and post this. Have a wonderful day.

  11. Fighting off a headache, I decided to get something in before Remembrance Day is completely over, so I re-posted a poem I wrote a year or more ago about a member of my family who didn't make it home from World War II.

  12. I didn't write a poem or post for Veteran's Day this year. Sorry.
I do have a picture of Adi (my deceased beagle dog) with the American Flag. She always honored the vets.

  14. Thank you Kerry--I already posted my November 11 poem (not the one here) which I edited after your comment actually to make a specific reference. It is such a sad day really. If you read the history of the original Armstice day, there was a general ordering troops into combat up to the last minute and beyond - soldiers dying right up to the last minute. I guess they didn't expect the peace to keep but it just seems so very horrible. Thanks. k.
