Open Link Monday

It is Christmas week in the Imaginary Garden ...

My warm greetings to all our visitors at the start of the Christmas week. I do hope that this will be a time of peace and goodwill for all our members and followers, and their families. I expect this to be a quiet week for toads, as far as writing goes. However, our prompts and challenges will continue over the festive season for anyone who would like to participate.

I have always thought of poetry as a gift freely given. No matter how many times I open a book of poems or follow a link on the internet, I am conscious that I am about to receive something that will add to the value of my life. To all who share their poetry with such generosity the whole year round, I give my most sincere thanks.

  1. It is quite awhile since I posted any lengthy writing. Too many end of year "must do's" at school. But now that is all done and I have Christmas holidays ahead. I hope to indulge. This is my first one.
Happiest Christmas to all those in the adorable toad world.

  2. Happy holidays to all -- Today's poem is the third panel of a triptych that begin the search for a WWII bomber wrecked off an island in the Pacific, continued with a woman's second-generation vigil and completes with someone son's travel home.

  7. Kerry, my thanks to you and other Toad staff for all you do to encourage and support our poetry through the year. I, too, read each poem as an offering of someone's soul and spirit. A gift beyond price. I suspect we poets know each other, in some ways, better than some of our real life people know us, because we share our deepest thoughts in our poems, which not that many of our real life people read.

Bless you for all you do. I look forward to a lot of great reading in 2014! Best wishes to all!!!!

  8. Happiness can mean a poem has no conflict. Hmm. Enjoy staying home if you can, socializing if you like, and working if you must. I wish you a week of peaceful thoughts.

  11. Loving all the toads and "toad roadies" as Shay calls contributors. Best wishes from me, from Lindy, and even from my bah-humbug husband who is secretly glad Real Toads keeps me sitting up and taking notice.
    Love, K
