Words Count With Mama Zen

A poetry prompt?  On Christmas Day?  Ain't nobody got time for that!

Let's keep it short and sweet.  Today, we're writing ho ho hoku: 5-7-5 syllables of happy holiday (or, bah humbug!) 'ku for your fellow Toads.  Do as many as you like; there's no word count.  Just have some fun. Post whenever you get a chance.  No one shall receive a lump of coal for being late.

Merry Christmas, Toads!

Mama Zen

  1. One of favourite catch phrases!

Thanks for making this a real short option, MZ. It's 1.30PM my time. Presents unwrapped, cooking marathon complete and I'm slipping into my Christmas day food coma... However, I shall endeavour to put together 17 syllables (between today and tomorrow). A challenge is a challenge, and I have so much to be grateful for.

  8. I meant to note that my poem is 17 syllables but not 5-7-5. I'm thrilled to see so many poems already in the line up after my post-Christmas-lunch nap.

  14. Hey MZ and Kerry-- hope all well. My drawing, I confess, a bit rushed--or the iPhone painting part! Though I am really having a very relaxed time at this point. Thanks for all your fun through the year. k.

  17. HO HO HO… I am playing but will be LATE. It has been the busiest Christmas ever - I always thought it would be less crazy as the kids aged… but they stay up so LATE and want to go to movies and malls … I'm exhausted (in a good way)
