The Tuesday Platform

Welcome to the Imaginary Garden...

Greetings to friends, poets and fellow travelers of the blogosphere. Following the sudden deaths of two icons of public performance, David Bowie and Alan Rickman, I am struck, once again, by the power of words - how they connect souls across the globe - and voice. Whether it be the lyrics of songs or the screenplay or scripted drama, the genesis was a word on a page and a voice to bring it to the world. And the performance lives on.

I invite you to make use of this forum to share your words with our community of poets.

Yes, last week was a week of many deaths... and it seems to continue, and now I read that Glen Frey has checked out from Hotel California...

Greetings, Toads! Today I offer a rumination on obsession. But as obsessions go, it's a good one!

Hello, the recent deaths along with Glenn Frey of the Eagles have all been shocks. May they all RIP! Happy Tuesday, enjoy your week!

I am linking up a poem I wrote last month. Thanks to those who have already read and commented. I haven't had a chance this week to write anything new.

Please pardon my perceived absence on your posts this evening. I've just converted to a different PC, and my blog address doesn't seem to be carrying over correctly. I'll try and get that rectified this evening.

Hi Kerry, you are too busy a lady. But sometimes that's the way it works out and has to be. I hope things will slow for you soon.
I was going to link a little read (aren't they all sometimes?) writing but decided to write a small tribute to Glenn Frey instead. I listen to a lot of Eagle music, the stuff I matured on.

Hello, I am back from the sea, but sadly I grieve all the talent the world has lost during the past week. I chose to funnel my grief into poetry.

Since Bowie has died so have many other greats! Shocking, but at this age not unexpected. It's the "when" that's surprising. My first poem about his (and the other) deaths this month. Have a good week!
