One must make a distinction however: when dragged into prominence by half poets, the result is not poetry, nor till the autocrats among us can be “literalists of the imagination”—above insolence and triviality and can present for inspection, imaginary gardens with real toads in them, shall we have it.

Good evening toads, I seem to be the first linking up... has to be the timezone... pastishing Lou Reed seemed to be called for, as I had already done Grace's prompt...

I had not done Grace's prompt (nods to Bjorn), so I took my own swing with James Wright.

We needed this, Kerry. James Wright looked like fun but I took the easy route and wrote what came to mind after a renewal dose of Lou Reed. I like his songs.

Angie, your link was faulty so I relinked it.

Hey Kerry, what a wonderful choice of prompts. I stuck with the James Wright, whom I just love. There's one poem of his, by the way, that I heartily recommend--called A Blessing--I can get a link. He also has The Blessing, I think, but I haven't read that one yet! Ha.

Thanks again for all you do. k.

I'm afraid I got my knickers in a twist and got the posts mixed up. I posted my poem and commented on all the poems in the original post from December 2014! I had a rough night worrying about my daughter and am suffering from sleep deprivation. I'm really sorry if I've caused any confusion.

Sorry, it was the wrong link too! Please disregards my first link.

Sorry for being late returning visits... I have been working the whole sunday on a second draft for a short story I've just submitted... :-)

Hi Kim.. Sorry for the confusion. I thought your first poem an excellent example of pastiche in terms of mixed media, so I have no problem with its being shared here today. Hope your daughter is feeling better.
