One must make a distinction however: when dragged into prominence by half poets, the result is not poetry, nor till the autocrats among us can be “literalists of the imagination”—above insolence and triviality and can present for inspection, imaginary gardens with real toads in them, shall we have it.

Open Link Monday

Welcome to the Imaginary Garden ...

Greetings to all our weekly visitors to the garden. It is always a pleasure to spend time here after a hectic start to the working week. I like to brew a cup of tea, kick off my shoes and relax in front of my computer, knowing I will have a ready supply of inspiring poems to read at my leisure. Thus an open invitation is extended to the community of blogging poets who would like to share a poem, new or old, with us today. There are no rules attached to the use of this particular forum, only the sincere hope that having left your link here, you will take the time to browse through other links and respond to the pieces with positive commentary.

It struck me today, Kerry, looking at the photo you chose, that each poem here comes into focus like the flower. I appreciate your work here and each and every garden party and open house.

I am linking a mirrored poem inspired by Grace's challenge! I still want to try Hannah's! I'm a backwards toad-cleaning like we are moving.

One of those things... just found out a friend passed away last week, her birthday was this week, she was under 50, and while working in her beloved garden, Kelly suffered a brain aneurysm from which she did not recover.

Kelly LOVED her garden! Everything organic, so I like to think she had some real toads, too, and so this seems likes a fitting place to honor her.

Peace ~ M

Used a few of my grandmother's photographs from college (early 1900's) for inspiration today.
