One must make a distinction however: when dragged into prominence by half poets, the result is not poetry, nor till the autocrats among us can be “literalists of the imagination”—above insolence and triviality and can present for inspection, imaginary gardens with real toads in them, shall we have it.

FLASH 55 PLUS!

Greetings to all poets and friends!
It is time for this month's Flash 55 Challenge. The rules of this prompt have not changed: Write a piece of poetry or prose on a subject of your choice in precisely 55 WORDS.

PLUS!

For the optional extra prompt of this months FF55, I invite you to visit Dismaland, the anti-themepark brainchild of the artist known as Banksy, and add your poetic voice to his creative vision.

The event has all the hallmark details of a traditional Banksy event from its initial shroud of secrecy to artistic themes of apocalypse, anti-consumerism, and pointed social critiques on celebrity culture, immigration, and law enforcement. However, there’s one major deviation: the bulk of the artwork packed into three main interior galleries was created by dozens of other artists. (Source Christopher Jobson. No plus this time, I'm afraid, for mine, but that was a fascinating look at Dismaland, Kerry. Thanks.

Sorry - I think I got a little silly.

I didn't employ the "plus" which I realize is optional...probably the opposite...with a touch of melancholy. Thank you, for the challenge, Kerry.

Oh dear... I noticed that no one understood the poem yet.. so I added a process note at the bottom!

Hey Kerry--Hi. This is a very nice tradition--though of course I wish it were the G man keeping it up--k.

Hello everybody. I'm home from holiday, and found 55 words. :) No Dismaland, though; merely a touch of dismal.

I actually wrote a 55 for Hedge's prompt, but not to Dismaland, and it seems indulgent to post it again here. However, I look forward to reading the rest. ~

I'm so happy to post a 55 for you. Yes, always remembering the G-Man.

I just added my bit; plus(less), since I had a conversation dancing around my head wanting to be shaped into something...

Happy Sunday!

I did a quick 55 but couldn't quite manage the prompt, but I'm anxious to read everyone's resopnses; this is a great topic.
I'll be back later to read and comment. My daughter moved from our house to an apartment of her own yesterday, and were still in the process. Happy Sunday everyone!
