One must make a distinction however: when dragged into prominence by half poets, the result is not poetry, nor till the autocrats among us can be “literalists of the imagination”—above insolence and triviality and can present for inspection, imaginary gardens with real toads in them, shall we have it.

@Marian, Wright's poem is wonderful. And phrases like "breathy stain" and "divination on the move" will have me going back to it a couple of times. ;-)

I enjoyed Jay Wright's poem, but had already been inspired by something else –which really belongs to the 'Up Close & Personal' prompt, but it seems a bit late to post there even if the link is still open. :)

It must be too late at night! (And is, in fact.) Sorry about wrong link looping back to here. Trying to correct it, I then linked it at previous prompt after all, before finally getting it right here. Bedtime! Goodnight, and I'll read your wonderful works tomorrow. :)

Sweet dreams, Rosemary!

Remember friends, this is open link day... share whatever you want! No prompt. Just thought you all would be inspired by these words today, this week, anytime.

And just a reminder....Toad links never close.

A little bit of silliness from me today.

Hello, posting a poem I wrote a while back. Charlie is doing better, but has a long way to go yet after his surgery.
