Hiya Garden Dwellers,
Welcome back to the out of standard where I lay at your feet a challenge to shake you out of the ordinary. July’s prompt will ask a little more ….
Fear into farce
So, we all have that one unfounded, completely unjustified fear. A nightmare scenario that we know will never ever…ever….ever really happen, but it plagues us nonetheless. It bubbles up when alone in the dark or when falling asleep at night.
Mine? Badgers with switchblades.
Your challenge: take your personal unfounded fear and write a poem about it taking a comedic stance.
That's it. The platform is yours. The mic is warm.
Keep in mind
Like every challenge, your poem must by newly written and not one which you have previously written which conveniently fits the theme.
So go now, my muddy buddies, and bring us back something shiny and new.
Oh ... this was cool, this reminds me of Harry Potter, and how you should overcome the curse of boggart...
I have to think about this... my nightmares are usually impossible to understand and quite often impossible to describe.
Wow! This is a great prompt but will take me some time. First I need to think hard... maybe have a nightmare tonight... I'll be back in the morning. :)
I know exactly what scares the bejabberz out of me! I will be back a little later t write something. Thanks for the prompt.
Not sure I turned the dream to farce, but I can guarantee that it's joy.
Hi Izy, Always nice to have you in the garden with another interesting prompt.
You never cease to come up with an original prompt! Thank you.
Not sure I did this right, Izzy. But it's a fine prompt, I've reason around, found lots of scary fears. My worst is being in an elevator or otherwise alone with a woman taller than I am. I've written of this before so I wrote of a fairy tale character. Little kids might be scared of her.
We had the big duck floating around in the Sidney, Aus, harbor for the Christmas season in 2013-4.
