Sadko the Green Monster Leon Bakst (1917) |
Today I am asking you to write a poem about a monster or monsters, be they real or imagined, mythical or made up, symbolic, surreal, abstract, nightmare or waking reality. You get the idea, I am sure.
I leave you with the famous words spoken by Iago in Othello:
"O beware, my lord, of jealousy; It is the green-eyed monster which doth mock the meet it feeds on,"
And a music video..

First, thank you so much for filling in for me while I was playing Miss Space Cadet. But while I am appropriately shame-faced, I am also glad in a way, because I adore this challenge!
Thanks for the prompt Kerry. Monsters everywhere for me.
Maybe this will be the ultimate bestiary in poetic form :-)
My monster is chronic clinical depression. I battle it every day. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose. Excellent prompt. Enjoy your space trip Shay! We all need these trips into outer/inner space.
I enjoyed writing to this one!💖 Happy Thursday, everyone!
This is fun! And I am with Toni and Paul....monsters everyday in some form. Even cat shit this morning. Jane
Thanks for this interesting prompt Kerry, luv the video and added it to my post
much love...
Stopped by to say hi. (and read)
I'm a bit behind with this and have to rush out for an early appointment this morning, but I'll be back to read later. Great theme for a Friday - and White Rabbits, with a pinch and a punch on the first day of the month!
Great challenge, hope you enjoy my response. Best wishes to all,
Mick
The Gimmee Monster...y'know, the one that squalls "I shouldn't HAFF TO pay to read writers' work! I shouldn't HAFF TO pay for work done!" It's been ruining my life for more than ten years. I'll have to make time to think of a clever image for it ;-)
