“It was a Monday and they walked on a tightrope to the sun.”
Good day to all garden dwellers! Here on the other side of the world, we are enjoying our Spring break, with temperatures already soaring into the mid-30sC (90sF). We are in for a long hot Summer. Whatever the weather in your parts, I trust that this Monday has dawned bright and full of promise for the coming week. As always, this is an open invitation to share a poem of your choice with the toads. I must stress that any and all of our prompts and links are open to any writer who would like to participate. Our poetry community is not exclusive, although we have a small membership working together to keep the weekly challenges rolling over. We welcome our regular followers and any new-comers to our site, so long as participation is interactive in the sense of give and take regarding commentary. Please enjoy your time spent here today, and visit again next week.
Happy Monday everyone!! Hope it will be a great week!!
Your lucky to have spring, we are just in autum and the coming winter
What does it say of mankind that we suffer the deaths of our poets at violent hands?
My thoughts today are with the people of Ghana, and the family of Professor Kofi Awoonor. What a terrible loss in the worst of circumstances.
Spring has sprung here! Wonderful weekend - and a warm day today. Hope its the same next week - I'm not at work!
Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
@Stewart, as I explained on your blog, RT is for the sharing of poetry, not photography. I apologize for removing your link and thank you for paying us a visit.
Hi there - sorry about the link up - missed the poetry!

Hello friends, this is my first time here....i have a haiku to share with you...
chilly morning here, but it still promises to be sunny and beautiful:-)
Good morning, All! I shared one I wrote for PU Verse First last week. I have a busy morning, but will visit others a bit later today.
Good morning everyone, sharing a piece today about being alone in a crowded room.
Good morning garden dwellers! :D
Spring-wow! It is nice to know these two seasons align with the best mood of colors!
Good morning, Toads! This is the second week in a row I have nothing to share, what has happened to me?!?!
Well, today is my son's birthday & I have a 2-day mini-vaca, so maybe the muse will visit. Love to all! M
Greetings, Toads! It's Monday, and I feel another rant coming on!
What does the latest atrocity mean? Theatre history shows control of art to be a tool of revolution. I don't know the history of other arts as well, but I know each violent death--targeted or not--should be front page news. We should note the danger of speaking and the danger of not speaking.
Hi all, I found a 5th poem in the peace series, inspired by visiting Peace Pilgrim Park yesterday and attending an Interfaith Peace Service. TGI Monday.
Beautiful autumn day here in Maryland. Quick post, then off to work!
Hi Kerry - Spring got lapped by Summer already, two days in? Yikes!
An older post, originally penned for NaPoWriMo back in April.
Cheers to all ~ M
Hi kids, I have been sick all weekend but attempted a pantoum last night and tweaked it a bit this morning. Looking forward to reading your offerings.
Hey Kerry-- I thought the tanka post most interesting and worked on one on and off all day, but I just didn't feel it was very good. Maybe I will post sometime--Agh.
Hope all okay. k.
Many thanks to all who have left such thoughtful commentary about my poem. I so appreciate your kind words.
Hi Kerry ~~ I know your heart is heavy today. You did your part in writing such a lovely tribute to Professor Awoonar.
I love the picture and the saying here. I would rather be laying amongst these flowers and weeds looking up at the sun than trying to walk the tightrope to it.
Thank you for those consoling comments last week. I'll be visiting more links this week.
Nothing today... just put up a photo I took as I passed by on way to library and thought of you.
