The Sunday Mini-Challenge ~ A Love Letter
I was introduced to the performance poetry of Sarah Kay by one of my students. With a few minutes to spare at the end of a lesson, I was showing the class clips of poetry and when this was suggested I immediately thought: What a fun prompt for Real Toads.
Write a love letter from one inanimate object to another.
New poems only for this prompt please.

Oh, I love her!!! Wonderful, wonderful prompt, Kerry, thank you!! :)
... what a delightful video! This is quite a challenge, maybe we should all post videos? Nah, maybe not.
What a fun prompt! I'll be back.
Such a sweet fun prompt. Thank you!
Having a bad meds day again after doing a little too much in the heat. Will be back tomorrow, hopefully, to check this out.
Hedge I hope you feel better!
I love this prompt! I once wrote about a plate and who might have eaten off of it. I love the idea of a convo between items ;D
Thank you Kerry!
Oops! I didn't see the big 'DO NOT use this video' caution at the end of this clip before I added it to this post ... I never understand how copyright prevails when things are shared on Youtube - the option to embed should be removed surely?
Tiptoes away...
I thought I had commented here earlier, but it hasn't shown up. I'm glad I saw the video before you found out it's not to be shared, Kerry. Sarah Kay is lovely and her poem is wonderful.

love it, how fun! thank you, Kerry. and thank you to Margaret, i managed to respond to both prompts in one little ditty. :)
Marian!!! Love it!
Had a lot of fun doing this, thank you!
I don't know runawaysentence's name but wanted you to know how much I enjoyed your love letter between two Adirondack chairs. I had tears in my eyes laughing reading it to my hubby but not laughing funny...it was so touching and amazing how you touched on every quality a pine chair would have. And aren't they always just like that. Not quite close enough to touch. Loved it!
What an unusual challenge. I struggled with it, but finally pulled something out of my brain. I don't think my muse could have given me two more unromantic inanimates...lol
Oh, good, I got mine in in time to sneak in a few comments before bedtime. Um, I mean I got it posted on my blog but I haven't linked it here. Glad I noticed that. It is coming up to the witching hour, both dog and husband are asleep. Better get my linking done so I can check a few of you out.

It was not easy to imagine objects in love until I started thinking of ways I feel they curse me. Then, this love sonnet was a breeze. Looking forward to reading more of yours!
I didn't do the letter form, more a convo. I so loved this challenge. I didn't get to see the video :(
I hope I make you crave tea ;D
In my Sunday brief, one known for being anything to everyone, falling for one known for going out with everyone for anything. Tweet tweet, love birds.
Just wanted you to know I have tried countless times to write to this prompt. (all have been horrible. I even took some amazing photos of inanimate things inside a museum... old, wonderful things from sewing machines, toys, etc. After reading Mama Zens witty piece I gave up, crying ;P Maybe I'll be back, but I think my "time" for poetry has been used up today - family calls. But just wanted you to know I tried. I'll be back this evening to read everyone's poetry, though.
@Cyn
Your idea is sooo clever! I loved your love tweet. So sorry I cannot leave a comment on your blog as it requires I sign in with accounts I do not have.
Kerry, thanks.
I don't know enough about what I should know about making a blog work the way it should, but I will ask for help from someone who knows, so maybe the comments will be open better if you visit again.
Then again, of course that's what this pond's best for. Thanks again to the toads for good prompting and friendly croaking.
Hi Kerry, I really enjoyed thinking about this. Sorry I am so late to the party. Hope all is well with you. You are so talented not only at writing but at coming up with these great prompts. Thanks much. k. (This is Karin of Manicddaily - on mobile device. I am traveling a great deal these days so mainly using iPad. It wants me to stick to old blogger id when on a blog spot blog. k
