Hello toads, I guess that by now you are pretty tired of challenges. One per day can be quite strenuous, and personally I have not joined. Therefore I would like something simple for you today the 20th on this journey, yet something that can be as complex as you want it.
When you name a baby there are so much hope that is tied to the name. There are consideration of what works in society, there is fashion, there are role models, but at the core of it every name I know of also have a meaning. For instance my own name Björn, means bear. This is an old Nordic tradition of giving me a name tied to some positive attributes like physical strength. I think the name might have been a failure as I am not very muscular, but I guess the thought is what counts.
For you today dear toads and tadpoles: Take your name and use it’s meaning to create a poem. If you do not know the meaning of your name, you might find this useful. If you have a nom de plume, or prefer for various reasons to hide your name in a riddle. The prompt is wide-open and you can use any form or metaphor to write your poem today.

I love the meaning of names.. so hope you can surprise me.. to me I see the bear as my totem, and might come back to that.
If my offering doesn't surprise you, then nothing will! LOL :-)
Mine is common, so no surprise.
I will use one of my fictitious names. I have a pseudonym for writing but no one knows it and they aren't about to learn it today.
Thanks for this fun prompt, sort of like going on a field trip in school. I might get caught up too.
..
Ha, love the offerings so far. I feel like we are having fun today.
a good prompt here today and I added my name :)
My interpretation of your name was it looks somewhat like John so it must be that in your cuoture; thanks for the enlightenment Björn
luv todays prompt HUGS
much love...
Great prompt Bjorn! I haven't thought about the meaning and why of my name in a long time.
My name is too obvious, but I put a little verse together anyway. Bjorn, I always think of Bjorn from The Hobbit. I think that's a great association, but maybe if my name were actually Bjorn I would tire of it. My first and last name get lots of tiresome associations, oh well.
Hello everyone,
This was really difficult for me as my name means "Praise of God"
Nevertheless I have done my best :)
Thanks Bjorn for this opportunity.
Love,
Sanaa
Sanaa, my sisters name is Åsa which is a nordic name just like mine.. but hers means from the gods.. that can be either easier or harder...
having troubles connecting, sorry if this is twice posted. good week to all ~
Hey Bjorn--I am a bit tired to deal with my own name so took this in a slightly different direction, thanks. (Hope that's okay.) k.
Excellent poems so far.. actually a lot of fun so far...
I'm with you Bjorn...name meanings are intriguing to me as well and I really enjoyed your challenge...thank you!
Although Kerry is a place name, it has some association with dark-haired, so my full name means dark-haired warrior woman of high desire... which has always pleased me.
:-)
I hope to get back to this prompt, Mondays are not conducive to creative thinking for me.
