The Tuesday Platform

Welcome to the Imaginary Garden where the stage is yours.

The platform we offer remains prompt and guideline free. Please select a poem of your choice - either brand new or a golden oldie. Perhaps there is a poem you wrote in April, which fell through the cracks of numerous posts, and you would like to have more feedback on it. As always, we encourage an atmosphere of sharing and supporting the efforts of other writers.

There's a Mr Linky problem, I see, here and elsewhere. I expect it will be fixed soon. Meanwhile, I've had fun turning an old journal entry into a found poem, and will link to it and read other people's when that becomes possible again.

This video resonated deeply. I've been spending a lot of time alone lately, something I've gotten used to over the past 7 years on and off due to MS. Most recently I hurt my back so I can't get out to teach, can't drive, walk or sit for long periods of time. It has been nearly two months, I really miss connecting with my students who have become dear friends. I am able to get out and walk in the woods appreciate nature. My kids, are adolescents, the older one talks to me sometimes. The younger one is really, really caught up in digitality…and well at 18, a senior in HS not much interested in telling me about her life or sitting to listen to mine. My husband and I still have conversations face to face. Most of my friends and family live far away, so electronic communication is our only option. But this weekend, I'm so excited, my husband and I are driving upstate to visit two of our dearest friends, to sit, talk, listen, laugh, share food, hang out, connect. Thank you so much for sharing this video. Ironic, I know, but I will be reposting it to fb.

I am sorry to have been absent today. I had to attend a parent-teacher meeting this evening. I hope the Linky has sorted itself out - nothing I can do about it from my end. I will e by on Wednesday to catch up on my commentary.

Happy May!

please don't feel that you need to read more than the first poem in my post ~ i just thought it would be nice to post something new for a change.

and don't worry about leaving a comment, either ~ you'd have to scroll a long way down!

thanks to anyone who visits.
