Kerry Says ~ Let's Count on Our Fingers & Toes

It is incredible for me to believe that this is my 50th Mid-week Challenge in the Imaginary Garden. My first was posted on July 27, 2011, and had exactly 5 poets link up to it! I can still remember how excited I was to get any responses at all.

50 Fun Facts About The Number 50

By way of marking this (auspicious) post today, I have decided on the theme of Numbers and/or Numerology. According to this SOURCE on Numerology, "The purpose of the number 50 is to promote fusion between body and soul, mind and spirit. Life is a continuing education for the number 50, as this energy seeks to learn their real values relating to their ultimate goals and aspirations, and learning to obey their inner feelings to ‘know thyself’. The happy disposition of the 50 Destiny number attracts friends and good fortune and they know how to take advantage of all the blessings -- Mentally, Physically and Spiritually."

Do you have a number that is special to you? Perhaps you would like to learn the significance of your Birthday Number. Approach this challenge from any angle that inspires. Link up your poem and stick around to celebrate with me!

Fond thanks to all who have participated in my challenges over the past five years.

Numbers have always fascinated me... I have to think a little bit on this.... This might be something where I get a little bit mathematical

Congrat, Kerry on your 5 years, and for your fave 50 - my poem and picture I found. Always have fun with numbers! Happy Spring everyone!

Mine is a little ditty with some nerdy joke inside... pardon the mathematician inside.

Congratulations, Kerry. You and the Toads have nurtured a nice little haven here in the Garden.
Best I can tell here, using my iPad at the gym here for KP's gymnastics class, I began my visits in February, 2013. Three years now.
Thank you for all your hard but pleasant work with the rake and seeds. Water too!!!
..
I'm not sure too many appreciate my car poems. I have read cars too, on my other blog. Anyway, I might use the number on our race car, we chose it.

Hey Kerry--you are terrific. I have been a little under the weather and working very hard (at job) so sorry to have been out of the loop. I will think about this. K.

Ha, and I was one of the linkers, back then. We were so excited about Real Toads! You have captained this little ship so ably, Kerry. Thank you for the years of work, I know how much it takes behind the scenes to keep these sites going..........I am very grateful, for both Poets United and Toads, and what they have meant to my writing. I will see if any numbers pop into my head in the morning..........good night, all!

Thanks K. I had some fun with a birth order numerology tool. I put in some found text from Rex Beach’s "The Winds of Chance" and it spit some of the words back at me. I picked and chose which ones to use in my poem. The number 13 was the number on my mind, as it was the only Anniversary I remember celebrating for my Mom and Dad. They are coming up on their 50th in a few weeks:) Never would have thunk it, with all their arguing and fighting. I guess we'll be celebrating two very different people soon, changed after all the years.

Love this, Kerry! Sorry I've been absent this week, the elections over here are killing me. But I'll try to make a go of this. I'm turning 50 myself in May, argh, so should have some inspiration at least. :)

CONGRATULATIONS Kerry and thanks for sharing your joy with us
I used the Birthday Number Link you gave and was really thrilled to read about day 11 which is my birthday number, Then i thought i will post a poem in a form created in 2007 called the FOLD which has 11 line because of my birthday being the 11th day of the month

Hope you don't mind an old poem today

much love...

Congrats Kerry! In 2013, I tried a blog with prompts. I had 3 loyal friends that wrote with me but no one joined us. I had it up for over a year and then deleted it with a heavy heart. I never promoted it and am not a well-known poet so looking back I'm not surprised. I love to do prompts and used to have a community on Google where lots of people wrote with me but it didn't transfer to online.

I was writing with Magpie Tales in 2011 and did drop in here sometimes but only in the last year did I start to come here on a daily basis. This last year I started writing with many internet groups and am really enjoying it. I never felt at home with Magpie although I wrote with them for many years on and off. I used to see some of the Toads there which is how I found you.

The Toads are so approachable and I felt excepted right away. Everyone visits and comments and that means so much when writing with a group. It's important that the person leaving the prompt visits the takes and they do! I like that it's not always the same person it makes it interesting. I am so happy to be here!

My poem this week isn't about a specific number instead, you reminded me of how exhausting numbers can be when there's not enough of them in a day so I wrote about time instead.

Have a nice week! Hugs!

Whew - I went round and round trying to figure something out - but I ended up liking it OK. This is why I love this garden and these challenges - it makes me THINK and be creative. Thank you Kerry for making me grow (I hope) as a poet.

Congratulations, Kerry. This is probably not an easy job although I imagine that it's fun too! I am finding as I try to find my muse about this that numbers and my relationship with them are stopping me from knowing what to write about, I'll keep working on it though and hopefully the link won't be expired. ;)
