No, DON'T "take a line or two from your fellow poet's poem." That's a really bad, really presumptuous idea. Take "a line or two" from one of my poems and I'll tie your spleen in a bosun's knot.

This is a quick 'hello' from me... First day of the new school term and I've had the poetry squashed out of me. I will be back tomorrow, playing catch up. I'm sorry to miss out all the fun.

I'm a last minute writer too. I took a break from tanka for this latest piece. Music counts as poetry (sometimes) right? I think Lin-Manuel Miranda's lyrics are pretty poetic at times, so I created something from a phrase from Hamilton.
