Toril Fisher Fine Art |
Welcome to Artistic Interpretations. My dear friend and gifted artist, Toril Fisher, has once again generously offered to allow us to use her paintings for our poetic endeavors. Please credit her as the artist. She has a Facebook page "
Toril Fisher Fine Art". She can also be found on Instagram under (@torilart) Toril Fisher. She sells her artwork at numerous art fairs in the summer. I own a number of her paintings and they are vibrant and full of life.
Perhaps you can place yourself within the painting... or have your poem take on the qualities of the animals Toril has so masterfully painted. Maybe make up a story and take on a unique voice that is pure fiction. Please interpret these images with a new piece of poetry written in any way you choose and link to Mr. Linky below.
I have been on another summer week-long break and return the day after this prompt is scheduled. I will be around to visit as soon as I can. I can't wait to read your artistic interpretations.

It was hard to choose but I was drawn to the rook - or is it a crow? Toril's paintings are stunning, Margaret.
The first picture was just what I needed for my first post Cape Town poem. Thanks, Margaret and Toril. I return in the voice of Caliban.
Nice pictures. I can see why you were in such a rush to post them at midnight.
Wow. It isn't even 8 am and already a new post in Toads! Which of these pictures do you own Margaret? I would like to be sure I pick one that is linked personally to you.
I don’t own any of these, although I do own several of Toril’s paintings. These are all for sale right now But I’m really pondering a purchase of the raven (or crow) if she makes a giclee (her giclees are wonderful quality). I’m on a ferry right now in my way to Nantucket to visit my son. I sill be back to comment in a few days. Thanks everyone for writing to this prompt.
I love the farm pictures, Margaret. I've not seen a for real a chartreuse barn but it, softly, is sooo regal looking in it's pretty green setting. The bulbs beneath the scraggly fall plants run second. Third for me is the psuedo-Van Gogh. I am so proud of my own photo of his olive garden showing the mountains in the background. We stayed in St. Remy for a week, his sanatorium was still there. That was where he admitted himself after cutting his ear off.
..
I am in total love with her work! Thank you for the introduction.
I too like the pseudo Van Gogh.
BTW...THE CHAT with Shay and I is still up for those if you who may have missed it on Wednesday
Her artwork is just lovely- thank you Margaret!
Thanks for the prompt, Margaret- and such a talented artist! It was a hard choice 😀
thanks for hosting Margaret, and be sure to thank your friend, for the wide and fascinating selection of art works from which we can pick and choose to dip our creative brushes :)
I'm seldom inspired to ekphrastics, and have been in a writer's block lately anyhow – but that boat broke through all barriers!
Beautiful paintings Margaret. Thank you for sharing them and the artist with us.
Thank you everyone for participating. I just got back from NJ and Nantucket (what an amazing island) and I posted a short poem tonight (Sunday) and will be back Monday to read and comment on everyone's poems. Again, thank you for playing!
