Wordy Monday with Wild Woman: Castle Ruins, Lowering Skies........Tell us a Story!

The Moors, North Yorkshire

The Moors, the lowering skies, the ruins of a castle,
the ghosts of times long past, the phantom tinkling of a piano,
and ............. Go!

This prompt seems ideal for taking a page out of
Magaly's book.
Tell us a story - in either poetry or prose -
in 313 words or less.

Good morning, kids. It is two a.m. in western Canada, and I am at the farm. I will be heading home at noon, so will make visits to those who link up while I am travelling once I am back in Tofino in late afternoon. Looking foward to some fun reads.

When I started writing my poem, I wasn't sure where it would lead me. It's only a first draft, so the rhythm and rhyme are a little strange. I'll come back later to read and comment - can't wait to see what everyone's come up with!

Kim, your poem is perfect - so atmospheric! I love everything about it. Brendan, your poem is epic. Wow, what a treat to read them.

Sanaa, yours should have music playing in the background as it is read. Lovely.

I will not have time tonight, but this definitely calls for some Gothic stories, I am sure that somewhere out there the hound of Baskerville is waiting with his luminescent jaws agape.

Not sure if I met the prompt but it is most def less than 313 words. Please feel free to delete it if it does not meet the requirements. I will understand. ❤😊

Hi kids, I am home. With what joy and gratitude I travel through the mountains, heading this way. It will never get old. I know I have really truly been given a blessing and a gift, being back here again. Bjorn, I look forward to your tale. Toni, I would never delete yours, or anyone's, poem. I am always grateful when anyone is inspired to write ANYTHING to my prompt, lol. Going to read it now. SO GOOD to be home.

This was a nice prompt, Sherry. Thank you. I was short on time so I wrote short. 51 words. I enjoy visiting old castles if they would be open for visitors. But I don't enjoy climbing on old ruins any more.
I have kissed the Blarney Stone on two different. I featured it on my other blog, no poem though. My picture here for you at the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte was pleasant but not real eventful. The printed name was also a link to its web page. The Castle is 35 miles southeast of Paris.

It is cool you have done some travelling, Jim. Lucky you, kissing the Blarney Stone. Wish I had, given my Irish heritage. But maybe an ancestor did for me.

I have been absent from the pond this week - just an unbelievably busy week for various reasons and I DO hope to come back to this and a few recent prompts I missed. I still have to visit and comment on the last two I participated in! So I'm off to do that first and then join up today (Wednesday) with the Garden. Thanks for the effort put into this prompt.

I imagine you have kids of various ages starting school. I loved your poem and prose piece, Margaret. Just wonderful, steeped in moors, ancestors and history........

Sherry - I do and I am helping my son in 6th grade with his dyslexia - it's a lot of work but I enjoy doing it (somewhat) - he's a good boy - plus all the after school activities... I'm ready for summer :P
