Open Link Monday

Calling all toads...

I guess we have had ample evidence that frogs and toads love a beautiful garden, especially if it is summer time.  I hope you all like the new look for the season.

I trust that wherever you are the weather is fine on this Monday, and that you have something new (or old) you would like to share with us.  Sometimes writing to prompts can be time-consuming, and leave one feeling that writing for oneself has taken a back seat.  This Open Link is an opportunity to get feedback on your current work, or to gauge opinion on a piece written awhile back.  Whatever your reason, the invitation is to post original poetry of an individual person, rather than to provide a forum for other memes. Management reserves the right to remove inappropriate links.  Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comment section, and to visit the posts of others who share this space with you.

I love the new toad pic!
My poem for today is pretty old, In it I attempt to tempt the muses, to try the classical temptresses along with a more Rilke-esque view of God. I would love feedback!

I love the new pond colors and images--very summery feeling. I've linked a short new one, and will be back to do some reading later this afternoon. Happy Monday, all.

I make observations. I reach conclusions. Sometimes I reach delusions. Anyway, today I'm waxing poetically on a revealing subject: HATS.

Loads o' Toads!

Since Corey, aka Herotomost, seems to be the inspirational flavour of the day, I thought I would share a collaboration we worked on a year ago (Time flies, doesn't it, my friend?). I can't remember now who wrote which stanza, but the first verse looks like mine, and the second and third his, and the last mine. That's how I'd call it.

Hello all! See you in your own gardens throughout the day.

You are absolutely right, I remember you rearranged at the last minute after the back and forth thing...and much to the better. Thanks SA, it still stands up pretty well I think (at least your parts do.

Terrible headache today. Don't have anything to post except my limerick and my husband's limerick, but his is better than mine, so how would that look?
Might do it anyway.
And will try to do some comments tomorrow.

Ah! It's nice to be back in the garden, y'all.

I had some teeth pulled and while Vicodin is great for vivid dreams, it is not so wonderful for attempting to write. Sheesh.

Two more this week, and then I'll have to hope that the gods of the pen and ink are lenient again.
