The Tuesday Platform

Source

Late October

Carefully
the leaves of autumn
sprinkle down the tinny
sound of little dyings
and skies sated
of ruddy sunsets
of roseate dawns
roil ceaselessly in
cobweb greys and turn
to black
for comfort.

Only lovers
see the fall
a signal end to endings
a gruffish gesture alerting
those who will not be alarmed
that we begin to stop
in order to begin
again.

There is something about poems by Maya Angelou that stir my soul and my muse from time to time. Greetings poets, wayfarers and friends, it's a beautiful day here and I am looking forward to reading poetry with a cup of coffee.

If you have any thoughts to share, ideas you wish to release into the wild or a world view to express, then you have come to the right place. Please share a poem of your choice and enjoy the company of your fellow scribes.

Gorgeous, Maya Angelou's poetry. I am posting now and will be back this evening as I am off and running and won't have a chance to sit down at a computer until about 9pm. At least I hope it is not later than that!

My belated tritina for Marian's weekend challenge, and using Sanaa's word list. Many thanks to those who have already visited. I have updated the post by adding my own ink sketch.

Thanks for hosting Sanaa :)

And happy poeming and wording this week to one and all :)

I'm so far behind and gasping, grasping for straws, and sometimes words ... so sadly, I've missed and skipped out on some wonderful prompts here at Toads - but they have been inspiring! Well done everyone who has offered us such amazing stuff to sink our teeth into and to those who have played along (I've caught some bits here and there in my wandering/travels) ... so now, to start again and see where the word wizards wander :)

Lovely poem by Angelou Sanaa - great selection to pause for breath :)

Thank you so much for sharing the beautiful Maya Angelou poem, Sanaa! Tuesday has come round again and it's nearly the end of October. I'm sharing a poem I wrote for dVerse Poetics which takes me back to childhood. Have a great week everyone!
