One must make a distinction however: when dragged into prominence by half poets, the result is not poetry, nor till the autocrats among us can be “literalists of the imagination”—above insolence and triviality and can present for inspection, imaginary gardens with real toads in them, shall we have it.

Play It Again Toads!

This weekend we revisit archived challenges of the Imaginary Garden. This affords us the opportunity to catch up on a recent prompt we may have missed or allows us to explore the side bar (2011 - 2017).

The Muse Inspiring the Poet
Henri Rousseau (1909)

Alternatively, select a prompt from the ones I have highlighted below. I have included a Flash 55 for those who like to write to that prompt on the first weekend of the month - naturally this is an open invitation to write an unprompted 55 word poem.

1. Flash 55 PLUS!, with Kerry, October 2015

2. Get Listed!, with Hedgewitch, March 2014

3. Aubades, with Grace O'Malley, December 2011

Love the aubade. I've written a few and am not sure this one is up to standards previously set, but what the heck. :)
